Chapter 1-Well Hello There
Stasia sat there in the car, waiting. Just waiting. Her mind still hadn't fully wrapped around the concept that she was actually here, in this town. Where she knew not one soul. Blue Springs, Missouri. Or as she'd come to call it, hell.
God why had her dad gotten that promotion? Sure she was happy for him, but why now, right before her senior year? She was popular, had friends, everyone knew her. Well, back in Indiana that is. Here, she was a nobody, yet again.
"Tell me again why I couldn't stay with Aunt Laura?" she asked for about the millionth time. "Anastasia! If I have to tell you one more time-" my mom started turning to look at me, before I finished for her, "that I'm going no matter what, if I like it or not." I rolled my eyes saying. "Exactly, now zip it, and be positive for once instead of acting like it's the end of the world and being a drama queen." she stated directing her attention towards traffic.
'Acting? Ugh, since when was this an act?' I thought crossing my arms.
My whole world is being turned upside down and now all of a sudden I'm a 'drama queen'? God, parents, they never understand anything.
"Mom you don't understand though, everythings so-" I started to say before being shut-up by the death glare she sent my way. "Nevermind, whatever, I just wanna finish this year and move back home. My actual home, unlike this place."
"Now Anastasia, stop it. You might as well enjoy your time here, you're not going anywhere anytime soon." she said pulling up to the curb. "Unfortunately." I said rolling my eyes stepping out of the car. "Try to have fun today sweetie!" my mom said before pulling off.
"Not likely." I yelled after her.
And with that, I abruptly turned towards the school, where I locked eyes with the most gorgeous pair of eyes I've ever seen.
"Oh my wow-" the words slipped out of my mouth before I had the chance to process the thought.
Oh no, did I just say that out loud? Crap!
"Uhh...hey there." he said with the most adorable crooked smile I've ever seen.
I stood there for a minute before I finally said "Uhm, uh yeah, uhm, h-h-hi."
No, take that back, I inaudibly mumbled the words like a babbling fool.
Just perfect.
I coughed as an attempt to cover up my embarassment. He just stood there giving me this cocky smirk. On any other guy I would have hated it, but not on him. It was actually...dare I say it? Sexy.
Stop it Stasia! You don't even know the guy, sheesh!
"Are you new here, I don't remember ever seeing you around?" he finally spoke.
"Oh, uhm, yeah. I just moved here from Indiana." I replied looking down at my feet avoiding his eye contact.
God those eyes, they were gorgeous.
What color were they? Blue, green, gray?
Whatever they were, they were stunning. And they fit him perfectly. They matched his cocky grin, with his rocker styled hair. Heck, they even matched the way he dressed, which by the way was amazingly.
What the heck am I saying, I don't even know the guy!
"Oh well I'm David, Cook." he said cutting off my thoughts of him and extending his hand. "Oh, Anastasia. Well Stasia, Hart that is." I said shyly reaching to shake his hand.
The electricity I felt when his hand touched mine for only a few brief moments was....indescribable. Unfortunately, as soon as the feeling registered, it was gone.
With that, the late bell rang, shaking me out of my current thoughts.
"See ya around Anastasia." he said with that same smirk on his face before heading towards the school.
I stood there, just watching him walk away.
'Wow.' I thought to myself, finally stepping into the building.
