During the show "Idol Tonight" or "Idol Chat" the voice coach had said something to the effect...

"At the rehearsal he sang that song (The Time of My Life) as if it was the last time he'll ever sing it and now he'll be singing it for the rest of his life." In a way I disagree with her. David is the kind of artist who will want a stronger control over what he'll put out in the future. But as he said we're to expect, "the unexpected".

As of right now, David still has spots 1, 2, 4, and 5.

DC is number 51 on the UK Itunes right now which is amazing to be honest. It was only put on there today and AI isn't on one of the main TV channels over here!

YES, they do! That was a phenomenal performance! And DC looked so happy up there on stage with ZZ Top.

I thought it was most definitely one of David's best performances from the whole season. I REALLY loved it. He sounded great, he looked great, and he had a BLAST up there. I've watched it countless times since Wednesday night and I have the audio on my mp3 player and I listen to it on there a lot, too LoL

I love it too. I bought all four for my iPod, but mostly I love hearing DC on the radio.

Amazon has The Time of My Life and is tracking it. If I'm not mistaken, Amazon listed it yesterday and today it's number 4.

So number 1 on iTunes and now 4 on Amazon. Way to go David.

this song grew on me, and i have to say, besides DC's vocals, it truly is quite catchy. i have a question though, does DC and the other idol contestants, e.g. DA, receive royalties for their hits during the show, or does it go purely to ai? i do hope they get a share in the profits.

No, it went to all digital retail outlets last Friday. The song is at #3 on i-Tunes this morning.

It just so happens you are correct there. I have the i-Tunes live feed in my bookmarks, and he was #2 for a brief period this afternoon. It does seems to be bouncing around in the #2-#3 area.
