I want to give everyone some advice. I posted a thread about this yesterday, but I will repeat it here. Most of you are familiar with mj's blog site. Someone asked her over there if they thought they should request the song and this was sort of her response.

Basically, she said to leave the promoting of the song to the label or in this case the show for right now till we know for sure which label he truly will be signed too. She said to refrain from calling several stations in your area and one of the things that has been emphasized over and over is to not call stations outside of your listening area because if DJ's are hearing from the same people over and over and if they are calling stations outside of their listening area, then the DJ's will get royally ticked and won't play the music at all.

One of the posters over there said this morning something pretty wise I think. She said if you happen to hear the song on the radio and want to request then, hey nothing wrong with that but basically she was saying to wait and save your energy for the "real" 1st single from the album. These coronation songs don't typically take off with a bang. Some said they heard This Is My Now a few times for a bout a week and then they didn't hear it anymore. That is pretty typical of the coronation songs. One of the fans also said this too last night. She said cross your fingers and pray that the record label (whichever one that might be) will make the right decision on his first single. Of course on the other hand, we may end up being surprised at how well this song does but I agree with her that we should save our energy for the official first release from the album.

I agree. Just wait until his real single comes out
"Time of My Life" isnt really his "single"

Hold up. We're supposed to be listening to the pop stations, right? I try to listen to Star94 down here but all I hear is Daughtry left and right. I don't mind Daughtry - heck, I LOVE him - but that's not the rocker I want to hear!

*sigh* I guess I still haven't found what I'm looking for, huh?

my friend got in touch with one of the radio dj's and asked them if
they had the time of my life and he said no!TT>TT yet they play ABMB
almost everyday!...*sigh*
*InlovewithDC*
I hope it makes it over to Holland, even though the show never did. They have a top hits station though that play stuff like Leona Lewis, so DC has a chance. I will request it once they start playing it, although I'll have to practice saying "Ik zou David Cook' willen horen; s Time of My Life alstublieft".

i'm from jakarta, indonesia and i haven't heard the song yet. but then again, i pretty much have my mp3 player 24/7. i do know this, though, every year, each time a AI winner is announced, their "coronation" song always makes it to Prambors 102.2 FM within a week or two. so i'm sure that this will be the same case

however, i do agree that we should kind of wait till his REAL 1st SINGLE from the album. no offense to those who love ToML smile.gif

That is totally correct, Pam. The last thing we want to do is irritate the DJs and, by all means, do not call them from another area. Thanking them for playing it is one thing, but don't ever get demanding. I have seen things go sour with the stations just because of overzealous fans bothering them. You are right in that the label is the one responsible for promoting this song and getting it to the stations. Where we can help is by talking it up to our friends so that they will purchase it off of iTunes. Those sales numbers are important and a good reflection.

They just played it for the first time here tonight about 45 minutes ago. It was during the weeknight Battle Royale. I forgot who he was up against. This was night #1 for the song and Cookie won! Just when I thought my phone voting days were over.

The DJ over here is so mean... he plays DC's songs towards the end of his show, and as a result, people actually stay up late for it...
