The Cookie Paradox...We all wanted him to win. When we watched, we screamed with joy. We've been walking around all day with stupid, silly grins on our faces and a bounce in our step. It has been the best day in a long, long time...at least for me.

But not only did we want him to win, we also wanted him. Now that he IS the American Idol he is definitely less obtainable. I view his pending success as diminishing my chances with him -- (as if)

So how are you dealing with The Cookie Paradox?

Badly - I always find the whole unobtainability thing really difficult to deal with even though there's absolutely no chance in hell I'd have a chance anyway, it still gets more difficult the more famous they get. I know it's quite immature of me but that's unfortunately how I feel.

I'm still thrilled for David, it's just life though.

Alas he has never been obtainable for me..I'm sure my boyfriend wouldn't be too happy with me..lol (although DC is at the top of my "It's Not Cheating" list).

I'm just so happy that he won that I can't even focus on anything else right now. I guess it kind of ruins my chances of becoming his best friend (haha) but it's okay. I'll be satisfied to just buy his album and go to his shows and buy the rest of his merch.

Just listening to his music makes me happy, along with being on this site and seeing new pics/videos...Damn, he IS hot--I wonder if he has any idea just how HOT he is! LOL

i agree with this and i dont know how to deal with it. this is actually the first time my fav. has won so its quite the big deal! im uber happy that he won and so proud and shocked and all that stuff. the other part of me wonders now if i can get through the crowd to see him up close or meet him ever.

i will tell you my story of experience with the "not easily obtainable" deal. it happened last night within an hour of the finale (eastern time) and i was on ebay looking for his old band cds and i found one that i was gonna bid on and im a newbie at ebay so i asked my bf (without telling him what i was bidding on) what do i do to bid on this thing. he says wait to til the very last 20 seconds or so and so i did and i LOST!! the album went for $35!! i litterly cried! its still haunting me. oh! and his other albums are selling for hundreds of dollars. not that hes worth it but i just can't afford that, ya know.

well, luckily, I was never in that "OMGIWANNAMARRYDAVIDCOOK" mindset HOWEVER, Kelly Clarkson has reached ALL KINDSA FAME and she is the most down to earth, normal, adorably friendly person you could ever meet. I'm thinking David is just like that. And, Kelly would totally date a FAN (just not a "FANatic" though...) so you might not be so out of luck after all!!!

You are so, so right. Today I just walked around my house SO cheerfully LoL I was smiling almost all day today, even at 5:30 am this morning when I'm not even a morning person Just knowing that David was the new American Idol made me so, so happy today.

I've had "Dream Big" stuck in my head all day, so I've been singing the chorus everywhere I go Luckily I'm home alone, so no one has heard me LOL



Definitely true. I don't even know HOW to watch Idol next season without David I know that I'll never feel this way about another contestant ever again.
