My name is Wombat and I'm from Sydney Australia. Have been an avid fan of Australian Idol since it began but this is the first year I have watched American Idol. I started watching because I heard about an Aussie guy named Michael Johns who had blown the judges away in his audition. The first night I watched I was actually unimpressed with Michael but floored by the young 17 year old kid (DA) and his performance of Imagine. However as the weeks passed it was someone else who ended up stealing my heart I think David Cook is amazing - so talented and a real cutie too I can't get enough of this guy right now so I'm looking forward to spending time here feeding my obsession

I love Michael Johns, he was amazing when sang the Queen songs - I think those kinda songs suit him a lot.

Don't get me wrong - I do like Michael but his song choices were not always the best. I agree that his voice is more suited to Queen etc. He's a really nice guy too - heard him interviewed on radio here recently and sounds like he will do ok with the exposure he got through Idol

I didn't actually get to see the performance he did before he got voted off - I was on a plane to America at the time! Lol. But it was a complete shock to me that he had gone. There was one song that I didn't like of his but I can't remember what it's called!

I too have watched all of Australian Idol and only watched American Idol this year because of Michael Johns (how patriotic of us) and whilst I thought DA was technically good - Mr Cook is the whole package - voice, look, presence, song choices - and the fact that he is so damn hot and humble just adds to his charm.
