You have to be a member of the site to see this info but I thought this was interesting and so I posted it. There is no official announcement yet, but if this is true, I think I might start doing a happy dance. LOL

aww crap...RCA is STRICT! Daughtry is on their label and on my Daughtry site, they requested all media be removed...even tv interviews, etc...Oh lord

Well, actually it makes more sense if he indeed is signed to RCA. Actually from the way it was explained to me, JRecords, Arista, and RCA are listed as part of the RCA Music Group.

Chris Daughtry has done quite well under their label especially for someone who didn't win. This news, if indeed the case, doesn't bother me. I have a gut feeling we may get our official answer this coming week after the holiday or the week after since Cook's official page is already up and running.

Nothing has been made official yet. mj said if you look at Medibase, it doesn't list a label and I can see why since we don't have a press release yet and as Cookie said last night on Larry King, they are still trying to get everything all ironed out.

Oooo, I hope this is true. RCA has proven to be a great label in the past. Yes, they're strict, but they get the job done. I think it would be the perfect place for David right now

Clay Aiken is with RCA, and media on him flows pretty freely throughout the fandom. TV interviews, radio interviews, pics, concert footage, montages...everything. There's a whole site of nothing but media on him.

As a fan of Will Young (winner of Pop Idol in the UK and the world's 1st Idol), I can tell you how it is for Will and other Idol winners. The winner is managed by 19 Entertainment (Simon Fuller) and signed to SonyBMG records, RCA is a subsidiary. The winner will be given an official website, run by the record company. They are very strict about what gets posted on there, they have all Will's videos on there to view but no unauthorised downloads are alllowed. The fans run their own website, similar to this. We do post clips and MP3s from TV and live appearances but you have to be a member to view these sections of the site. Incidentally, we have a section where you have to be over 18 and have posted over 100 times to join. This is where we can be as naughty as we like. This might be a solution to the issue you had recently where a thread got shut down for being too racy.

I know that RCA had been extremely fussy when it came to any kind of videotaping at a concert to be posted or even to be used personally when Bo Bice was touring. They would have your camera taken away or you even would be asked to leave or both. I never tried it, but I have friends who did.

Clay has come to encourage video and pics at concerts, unless the venue forbids it; then he requests that we follow their wishes(and even then, if he catches someone, he sometimes makes comments about it.) I saw him in summer 2005 at Wild Adventures in GA., and the local radio hosts who were there came on stage to "introduce him." They said that normally, that was the time when they would tell the crowd no pics or video, but that Clay said we could take as much as we wanted.

A few times, security has said something to someone, only to be told by Jerome and Clay's people that it was fine.

Last summer, he even took a camera from one of our regular videographers, and took video of the audience.


He's been known to go online, with his backup singers and other people who work with him, and watch videos and montages that we make. In fact, one of his backup singers, Quiana, has a fan video of the two of them doing an impromptu duet of Listen on her MySpace page.

His one concern is flashes at some of the concerts. They really bother his eyes, and irritate some of the others on stage, especially the orchestra members(when he has performed with one.)


So, take all that for what it's worth. I have never been a fan of anyone else enough to know how it works for/with them. Just relating what my experience has been with Clay. How that relates to RCA, I have no idea.


I guess we'll just have to see how it goes. I'm really hoping for footage from at least one AI concert, since I can't go!
