We actually saw a slight drop in spins on the top 40 side by 9 spins. The spin count is back to where it was on Saturday morning but there are still some nice gains with the other 2.

Yep. I see that now. Every night when they play it, within a few hours it starts going back up there.

There were some small to nice sizeable bumps in spins with each chart. TOML did not get airtime last night on the Olympics but it is sitting at #26 at i-Tunes which isn't too bad.

Also wondering aloud if anyone could put Reggie Hamm's testimony with TOML playing in the background on Youtube and Godtube.

I don't have the stuff to do it, but Reggie said he didn't mind his testimony being posted whereever, and I still feel like getting the word out might bring in a whole new audience especially if the testimony reaches the Christians in the country.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, Pam. Hoping numbers are better on Top 40 with the real single.
Question: Didn't you do the Mediabase updates at Team Plaid last year? They kind of stopped when things didn't look good. Will you continue doing these updates (I guess they are technically All Access instead of Mediabase now) until TOML loses its bullet in a particular format?

I agree! TOML is no longer some AI coronation song... it's a legitimate hit that happens to be a better song, imo, than any other past coronation song, and in the hands of David's magnificent voice & artistry, is quite a good tune in the world of AC. Now that I've read Regie Hamm's blog about how TOML came to be, I have even greater respect for the song. It believe TOML will be a staple for retrospective segments on newsmagazine shows and in sports coverage for years to come.

I heard TOML for the first time this afternoon on 96.5, which is a Birmingham AC station. It was during drive time and they didn't make a big deal about it but prior to this no Birmingham stations were playing him to my knowledge. If this is a new phenomenon it could actually really help him in this area because a lot of people listen to that station.
They may have officially added him a while back (or maybe they haven't bothered to do so yet) but I haven't heard him on there up to this point. It's really like pulling teeth to get them to play anything modern but they do sneak some Maroon 5 and Rob Thomas into their setlist occasionally so they're not completely hopeless.

As long as we're talking charts, TOML has held onto the #21 spot on ITunes for about three days. I also see that some remixers found a way for "All Summer Long" to get on the chart and I can guarantee you that's the #1 song being downloaded in this state right now. I would not be surprised if that one is the one to overtake Archie eventually because it's jumped 15 spots since yesterday. It is ridiculous that Kid Rock has not got that one on ITunes. But I digress because that has nothing to do with what this thread is supposed to be about.

Yay for going up on Top 40, though it really hasn't gone anywhere since yesterday.

I actually spent two hours (an hour each way) in my car last night and was channel surfing. I heard TOML 5 times on different stations. I live in the Pittsburgh area and have never heard an Idol coronation song here prior to David. I also heard it on my way home from work today. It was a request, and the girl or lady said "you aren't going to put me on the radio are you?" The DJ said no, not if you don't want to. She said, "I just love David Cook so much". I wonder if she's a wordnerd. Hee. My only concern is that with TOML doing so well, it might delay the release of a second single that is more David's style. They will try to get all the mileage out of it they can.

ETA I should add that the DJ didn't put her on, she was repeating what she said. It was cute.

I honestly think it hasn't been released because David and RCA are probably trying to line things up and decide when it will be released. I don't think they are ready yet. Yes, TOML has done exceptionally well but I don't think we have solid proof that this song is holding a new single back. David had been saying all along late September/early October and that was as long as things were going well with the recording process with the album. He had said last week that the reason he hadn't been coming out after shows was because he was working on the record and that was the only time he had to work on it and that's of course on show nights not counting days they have off. We can't really assume anything when we don't know what is going on behind the scenes.

True Pam. According to HDD's rumormill, Crush is soaring at Itunes with 164K downloads. He may pass David's 236K, but David did it in 4 days and he didn't have his fan base buying multiple copies, which will bode well for CD sales.

I'm not entirely certain, but doesn't the sales week end on Sunday? That means that anything Archie sells from this point on won't be counted. Therefore, there's no way he can outsell Cook for those first-week totals. There's got to be a couple of days for the numbers to go through.

As far as CD sales go, we can't really make a fair comparison because Archie's album was taken off of pre-order at Amazon sometime last week, but Cook was outselling him by a pretty fair margin before the album was taken off.

As we've seen with Jordin, just because you have a hit song on the radio doesn't mean people will buy your album.

I am not trying to start a fanwar here, just pointing some things out.
