I also love that they said they think David will be Idol's "superstar" winner because I know that's what WE all think, but it's nice to finally hear it from someone else. I really, truly think David is going to be huge, I can just see it now and I can't wait.

Oh my gosh, for the past several weeks I've looked forward to Idolatry almost as much as Idol itself. I love how they've had a Carly flashback in every episode since she left. They're freakin' hilarious.

Wait a tick...how did I go from being an advanced member to a plain old member all of a sudden. Unfair downgrade! I demand a recount!

I didn't even know what idolatry was till just now....but all those clips of MJ and Carly made me think about Wednesday and how that was probably one of my favorite performances of the night....those two....I just like them. lol

this season of idol was my all time favorite ever!

it's my second most favorite performance of the night. the first is of course DC's winning moment but yeah that was HOT. i LOVED it.

Idolatry is one of the best things ever to happen in the Idol universe. Michael Slezak is wonderful. I can't wait to see what shenanigans he and the rest of the EW gang get into in future shows.

LOL! Well...I still have it, but I wanted a change. I made THREE banners for myself tonight I don't like keeping the same sig for long, so I decided to change it up with my new one because I'm feeling the Archie love tonight (Wow...that sounded really wrong if you think about it LOL).




Michael IS wonderful. I always looked forward to seeing the new Idolatry every week. I can't wait to see his interviews with DC and Archie next week, I'm sure they'll be great.

I totally agree! Watching the media coverage on Thursday, as these 'industry experts' commented on the two Davids, I was thrilled when almost everyone said that David Cook was authentic and would have major success with both radio and sales. Finally, others are saying what we've known all along!

I did too! Michael Slezak is so funny! This episode could have been better, but I loved all the talk about happy trails and the corresponding images. Thank you Idolatry! They always seem to round out my Idol experience and help me process the show. I can't believe it's all over for the year!

What's Idolatry? I'm being introduced to all these new shows.

Parts 4 and 5 aren't posted yet. I'm guessing that since they just put up the first three that they're still uploading those last 2 parts to the site. I'd keep checking, whick is what I'm doing LoL



Idolatry is a weekly online "show", headed by columnist/critic/blogger Michael Slezak and usually Jessica Shaw or one of the other regular critics that are on there. They've been doing it since 2007, every week that Idol was on. They critique/praise the contestants about their weekly performances, commentate, offer song suggestions for the next week for the contestants, and they also have exit interviews with every contestant that was outed, I believe. It's extremely funny and lighthearted and Michael is a great host. I watched it every week, I looked forward to it.

I've been waiting for this too! I was so excited at the end of part 3 when it said there were parts 4 and 5. Usually I think there are only 3 segments total. They will probably wait til tomorrow to post the other 2. I think they only posted parts 1 and 2 of Archie yesterday, then part 3 today.

I don't know how many people saw it, but Slezak was one of the bloggers in the mtv.com blogger roundtable thing a couple of weeks ago talking about the finale (along with MJ and Rickey and a couple of other people). They were all asked who would win and Slezak said that Cook would win, and that he was so far ahead of Archie that he only needed one good performance on Tuesday to win the whole thing. He knew what he was talking about...people completely underestimated how much of a fanbase Cook had.

That they did. Which is odd considering Analog Heart made it to #1 on Amazon. That is no small feat and should have been indicative of the size of his fanbase.

I've been waiting for this interview forever. Rock on, Michael Slezak! Jessica Shaw kind of scared me, too, actually, when she looked like she was about to pounce. That girl has a major crush. You can tell!

I don't even like the cougar thing (I'm the right age and gender but find the concept kind of insulting) and I still thought it was funny. I wonder how DC feels about it, though, to be constantly assaulted with this perception that his fanbase is largely made up of voracious older women who want to eat him alive (especially when he's used to his fans being 20-somethings who are up all night hanging out in smoky bars.) Freaky deaky.

This is one of the best interviews I have seen (and haven't we seen them all!!) Actually Mike has quite a pretty mouth himself, if you can tear your eyes away from David long enough to look at it. Very sense-soo-yall!!

I am so glad they are giving David enough time and a forum to set the record straight on all sorts of things, like credit for covers. Plus this answers the question once and for all of whether David knows what he does to us ladies---he does!! even if it was accidental to start with, he has gleefully and purposefully kept it up and intensified it until we are left gasping. He clearly enjoys having this particular "super power" LOL!

WOW! Loved the interviews. That boy can really express himself clearly--it is just downright enjoyable to watch. I thought the lady interviewer was making moves to make out with him on the spot.

I thought it was a great interview, very relaxed, but the "smug" thing bothered me. I don't see David as smug. I never have. If anything, he seems to be one of the most grateful, surprised, and chuffed AI winners and it's a testament that he's doing so well. Unfortunately in today's society, people think being confident about your talent = smug. Which I don't believe is the case. I just think it's believing you're damn good at something. But I like those Entertainment Weekly Idolatry people. I feel like I could really have a conversation with them and have fun working with them. So I enjoyed the interview, overall. Thanks for posting!

The interview is the best one out there. I was getting tired of the same old questions being asked over and over so this was refreshing! I was also insulted by the "cougar" labeling at first (I never thought of myself as old), but I have now come to embrace it!

These were so made of awesome! I love those two and Cookie...wow. There are no words. I think I've fallen back in love more so than ever. I was dying when she stood up! I thought she was gonna find out what kind of kisser he is (you so know she's right). I had the exact same dream and he was amazing--very sweet, tender and sensual. I woke up before the clothes came off. Damn you, boyfriend's cell phone!

This time about "Archie": I just watched his three Idolatries that are also up, and I am so impressed. He is a genuinely generous person, and he actually is funny just like David has said. He is so natural and unaffected.

I think the Top 10 this season were all just great people each in his or her own ways and that made watching the show even more memorable and even more crucial to my weekly happiness all spring.

Finally....a really excellent interview that doesn't ask the same questions over and over!! I can't wait to see part 4 and 5!!

I haven't watched Archie's vids yet and I totally believe what you are saying. He is truly genuine and so sweet.

I could sit and watch and listen to David talk all day. He's so good at expressing himself.

It really made me laugh when the woman said she had a dream about him!! There are lots of cougars who appreciate what a lovely guy David is. I personally don't lust after him but can certainly understand why so many do. I think its great that David has such a wide fanbase. His older supporters are not going to move on to the next best thing when it comes along and will be loyal long term.

Really looking forward to Parts 4 and 5. I think this interview is going to be the best and most detailed one we're going to get
