Jessica Shaw is kind of scary in these, she's definitely star struck by David! I thought she was going to actually kiss him when she talked about her "dream"! OMG!

And I love that they sat in a bar to interview him!

I could sit and watch and listen to David talk all day. He's so good at expressing himself. Its great to hear in detail how he felt about things as the show progressed.

It really made me laugh when the woman interviewer said she had a dream about him!! There are lots of cougars who appreciate what a lovely guy David is. I personally don't lust after him but can certainly understand why so many do. I think its great that David has such a wide fanbase. His older supporters are not going to move on to the next best thing when it comes along and will be loyal long term.

I'm really looking forward to Parts 4 and 5. I think this interview is going to be the best and most detailed one we're going to get

I agree that David A is a very sweet boy and its lovely the things he says about our David in the second part of his interview. He really looks up to him and thinks he deserved to win which says a lot about David A.

Great interview so far, we finally get some different questions asked and its interesting being able to hear David talk about his thought process while on the show.

Okay.. I need help! Its 3.30 in the MORNING for me right now.. and I have to be at work tomorrow by 9am! And yet what do I do? I sit here and watch David's interviews and make screencaps cos he's just looking too DAMN hot for me not to!! Loving the hair and SCRUFF!! I am so going to be zombified tomorrow. *le sigh*

WOW! What a great interview! Not to be superficial, but was anyone else thinking about how incredible the picture was? It was so crisp and clear.....one of the best views of our boy we've had in quite a while! Swoon.....(cough*cougar*cough)

I loved hearing him talk in depth about some NEW topics, and talking to people with some actual intellectual depth was a nice change, too. Lovin' the vocab.: he did it again, dropping those multi-syllabic words everywhere!!!

And yes, he did look quite pleased by the "cougar bait" comment...not at all what I expected! I guess I always imagined that he would be a little put off by the whole "older woman" thing.........hmmmmm......he seemed pretty interested in that topic!
No blushing at all: I think he is pretty proud of it, the little scoundrel!! (delicious!)

Firstly, I cannot wait for the next two parts of this interview and on a shallow note, the picture quality is amazing, David looks, WOW!

I have loved the interview so far. It's nice to hear some intelligent questions being asked and some questions that actually have some amount of depth to them.

Ha! Me Too! I didn't pay attention to whay he was saying at all when they showed the clip of "Music of the Night"...I had to rewind and listen again to the dialogue. This man knows how to work the camera for sure. Makes me think of Jason Castro trying to imitate David's camera look...!

Does anyone know how to rip videos like this one off of EW? It's on a Brightcove server and I know those can be tricky but it can be done. If someone does know, could that someone let me know how to do it? Not only do I want to rip some of the videos off of EW but as well as NBC.com. I love how he said he's more of a Wednesday-Thursday NYT crossword puzzler.

True NYT geeks know that they start out easy on Mondays and become progressively more difficult throughout the week, culminating in the mother of all crosswords- Saturday. (Sunday's may be larger, but Saturday's is harder.)

This was his best interview to date. Loved it!

Well, I went straight to the website and got to watch the first three that way, but unfortunately on the smaller screen. Thank god, because these are so great.

This interview is by far the most intelligent and insightful of anything I've seen thus far. There was a posting on another site, musicequalslife.com called: An Open Letter To All American Idol Fans, that is essentially lambasting all of the internet bloggers and the like who were critical of DC, his musical arrangements and the absurd idea that he "stole" other musician's arrangements. It's davidcook.oxyhost.com. On the home page on the left they've posted the three part video clips. If you're familiar with Slezak and Shaw's EW posts you'll really enjoy this. They bring the best out of David and have some fun with him. They are fans of AI and I know they both were rooting for DC (even they they tried to be as unbiased as possible until the win happened) and it's great to see him interviewed by a pair who really know their subject!!
BTW, the David Cook Collective site is a new and excellent fan site.

Is anyone as excited as I am for this tour??!?!?!?!?!!? The more I hear about it the more excited I get!!! August can't get here fast enough!!!

Personally I actually liked "Hungry Like The Wolf", but DAMN I wish we'd gotten to hear his take on "All Along The Watchtower". That physically hurts to know we just missed out on that.

Just watched all 5 parts... that interview was fantastic! It was so nice to hear people ask them proper and different questions! Poor guy's been answering the same five questions over the past week, that was a great interview! Part 3 was hilarious! I admire her for just telling him about the dream!

I aslo love the fact that they talked about the "magic rainbow"... i'm so glad to hear him say he'll fight for it though! I DO hope he'll fight to make music he believes in... and, Barracuda with Carly and Jason?!?! That would be FANTASTIC!

LOVED Pts 1,2 & 3. I want 4 & 5! David is SO well spoken, laid back and cool. God, this man can't possibly get any more perfect..... {sigh}

Ok, so I just started watching part 4 LoL I had to comment on what David just said about the group numbers. I am so, so glad that he said what he did. Most of us hate the group numbers, you can tell that most of the contestants don't want to be doing them. Like he said, why do they make them all do those, most of them won't be doing something like that after Idol, so I just don't get it. He was so blunt about it too, saying they were "tedious" for him, but I loved it

Edit: I'm so glad to hear that he's going to fight to put what HE wants on the record. And I can totally see him doing it, too. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to fight a little and then back down in the end and say, "Alright, fine, I'll do it"...I don't think he'll do that. That's why I think this is going to be a great record.

I must say, for all the tongue-in-cheek reporting Idolatry did over the course of the show, this 5 part interview is my absolute FAVORITE. The questions are both interesting and different than the most of the rest of the schlock that's being asked AND they're asking questions that so many true FANS want to know.

Hats off to EW, Michael Sleazak and Idolatry.
