I remember the shows but, gee whiz since I'm an oldie never got to the after parties. Hearing these small bits each week on tv has me seriously missing the Axium shows. Thank God I have the CD's - geting a lot of play these days.

Ah, the Setlist...I always stayed up on the balcony so I could look down on the stage from directly above it. Plus, the people down in front got a bit crazy for my tatses. Jack and DIane live there, everyone chiming in Yeah, yeah! during Somber, David's banter with his pals up in front...to bad I never got to the after parties (SOME of us had class to get to the next morning...)

we were always up front....we weren't THAT crazy....

were we?!? lol we had the best after parties especially when we stayed at the Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn....just make friends with the overnight desk people and you are GOLDEN!!!! that's how we always got the pool. i miss the setlist...keystone light and lemon out on the back deck smoking a cigarette and waiting for the show to start....ahhh those were the days!

Ok, you guys weren't all THAT crazy, but still...my personality tends toward the lone wolf type, and I never could get my freinds to ever come to more than one show because fo the longwaits and cigarette smoke.
I just saw Flee the Seen at the former Setlist last month and nothing much has changed, looks-wise. Balcony was closed due to rain leaks, and they serve absinthe now, but you still wait a heck of a long time between acts. But it's cozy, and has such great memories, of Axium and others.

Ahh, the Setlist. What was up with the movies they would have running on the wall during the shows? They always cracked me up.

LOL...I think that's about right! I was proud of that stupid thing and spent a lot of money on it. The pic I have up now is my new one that I spent even more money on. Hey, do you remember after the Kings played The Venue we all went back to Jweitt's place and Brigg's got wasted and climbed a tree half naked. He just had surgery too and he's at the top of this tree directly above the hot tub! I think we started throwing stuff at him.
You are Ho aren't you?

Watching Pulp Fiction with the soundtrack provided by Axium, or Anything but Joey, or the Sound ad the Fury...good times.

I believe ABJ is back together after a long hiatus/breakup, but I have yet to catch them live since I heard this.
And I guess I'm joining you in the off-topic-ness.

Haha, I've GOT to hear that! That show is great.

Ok here's one for ya!

Once we went to Warrensburg to see the guys play a show...but it got cancelled. Well we had friends from Wisconsin coming and there was still another show scheduled, so we decided to go anyway. The night that the show was cancelled the Axium guys brought two acoustic guitars and came to our room to hang out with us. Well David was sitting on the bed playing some random song and then he just started roasting everyone in the room Tenacious D style. It was AWESOMELY funny...just thought about that because we have it on tape and we were watching it the other night....good times!
Hee. Thanks for sharing that, blackorchidblue. So, he's a GENUINELY fun guy to be with, huh? Unlike with the other Idol contestants, I have NOT heard a single bad thing mentioned about him by people who know him personally. Neat.

Those sound like awesome times! I'm soooooooo jealous! It's the same way here with a great local band named Pheen. I've known those guys since we were kids. Their like big bros, they drive me nuts sometimes but I love them all the same. CHECK OUT THEIR MYSPACE! They do a kick ass version of Elenor Rigby! haha had to throw that out there. Thanks for sharing those stories guys and don't be afraid to share more!!

ABJ actually isn't back together officially...they've just been playing shows here and there, mostly when Ludo comes to Kansas.
Does anyone know if the old Axium tour dates are listed anywhere? I'm pretty sure that I saw them with ABJ, but I can't remember!!

They played together at the Hurricane about 3 years ago or something.

that was a good show. David broke a string in the middle of his set and I had to fix it. He got mad at me because I forgot he plays lefty and I strung the guitar up for someone that plays right.

I am guessing that there are plenty of us old folk out there. I never had the pleasue of seeing the band sice I am at the opposite coast. I do hope to get to see him sometime. I do enjoy thier music. You can include Midwest Kings in there also.
Did anyone check out how much they were selling these albums for on ebay?
