QUOTE
Thanks for coming over to radioIO (“radio EYE-OH”). We hope that you’re prepared to experience a completely renewed sense of what it’s like to discover and enjoy music online. Because we think it should be more like having a good friend who knows what you like, and is always ready to introduce you to something else they know you’ll dig, too.
That’s because radioIO is made for individuals, by individuals. Each radioIO music stream (or “channel,” or “station”) is an independent, original creation that you won’t find anywhere else, featuring a hand picked playlist. All music sets are handcrafted by stream hosts, the real people behind the music who are basically other music enthusiasts like you (but with much larger music collections). They know that you want just the right music whenever you feel like it, wherever you are.
We don’t think that a bunch of MP3s set on “party shuffle” is radio. And we just feel that since we’re all in this big Internet thing together, we should look out for each other more, y’know? So, in addition to building you these focused yet expansive music channels, we love to interact with you: playing your requests, answering your questions, and finding out about more great music right along with you. And please, go ahead and send us an email - you’ll get a personal response from a real person, most likely a stream host, in very short order.
What radioIO isn’t: Corporate, consulted, random, limited, formulaic, set to “shuffle,” restrictive, biased, cooler than you.
We’ve actually been around the Internet radio block a bit longer than most, as we started in the rough and tumble frontier of Internet radio in the late ‘90s in the spare bedroom of our founder, Mike Roe. Mike didn’t know anything about radio or web casting, but he loved to play and share music, so he started his own single music stream, called radioIO (that has now evolved into radioIO Eclectic). As his vision and radioIO grew, he sought other music lovers who shared his philosophy of intelligent music programming that never underestimates the listener.

What happens is, you register your particulars - the usual, a username and password, your email address and the genres your interested in, think that's about it.
Once you have received an email confirmation you are then all set to go into any of the channels and send one of the ten DJ's an email and request any of the worlds idols and/or groups and a favorite track. Then, a short time later, you will get to hear your chosen track., something that isn't always possible on local radio stations.
I believe the radioIO is one of its kind, being the only one in the world that plays your requests from the POP IDOL/AMERICAN IDOL/POPSTARS and all the rest of the worlds tv Idols shows as created by Simon Fuller.
If you go onto the IDOLS channel you will notice that America's newly crowned idol David Cook gets lots of airplay
As I couldn't find such a forum existing anywhere on the web, part of the reason for this new thread is I have a web site ( my first ) based on radioio, it is called radioioCHAT. I created it with the sole intention for music lovers from all over the world to join in the forums and chat about any of their favorite idols, the tracks that get played and even the DJ's themselves. I want to invite you to take a look, first on the radioIO web site itself and look in all of the different channels - the IDOLS channel is about half way down under POP. Just take a look in there and see that David Cook does really get plenty of airplay. Then when you have taken a look in there, why not go and take a look at my web site and please feel free to discuss David Cook and any other idol you might also like with other fans from all over the world - hopefully. As I have said above, mine is a new site so at first it may seem a little quiet, perhaps that might change. I have lots of other artists whose fans I need to contact, in the hope that the site will eventually become a real buzz, we'll see
