I have to say that I was just blown away by this performace. He is so amazing! I think if he doesn't win this he'll have a great career just like Chris Daughtry has had.

Good Lord, David...you keep getting better and better. I have never been as excited to watch someone in ANY Idol Season as I am you. Who's Chris Daughtry? LOL
My career is in marketing and I can tell you that no one makes a better idol than one who is marketable. The other David, though with a very distinct and beautiful tone, is not marketable. What will his album be..."Beautiful Ballads of Boredom?" I'm not trying to be mean, just honest. Once he matures a bit, that may be a completely different story. But this is TODAY.
For America to chose anyone BUT you would be egregious! (Can you guess, I am a word nerd as well?)
Seriously, if for some idiotic and unfathomable reason you are not crowned the new Idol, I'm sure you have no longer have questions about it---that this will be your career--and a successful one at that. I will see you at your sold out concerts and certainly will buy all of your albums. Keep going, you plethera of talent!!
Ps. hello, is it me you're looking for? Doh! Nah, doubt it, I'm in my thirties.
Seriously, though, keep it comin'!!!
TONS are routing you on!!!!!!!!

He truly is amazing and it is about time American Idol had someone on that truly could rock the house!!
I will be very surprised if he doesn't win, but if for some stupid reason he doesn't you KNOW he will make it and be out there seeling out shows in no time.
David Cook is truly gifted and I for one can not wait to hear what he has in line for us next!!

My sister and I were talking about AI earlier today and she says that the show was rigged since the top 24 and they got rid of everybody who had options of signing to labels to go into the top 12 rather than people who just have talent. she believes that the ravings of david cook is just going to be as the same as daughtry and we'll see him go, but i don't believe that because i believe that AI might want a rocker this year then some 17 year old kid who will ruin his options because AI likes to have their genres be kept "pop". AI already has the youngest AI winner, Jordin Sparks. Why have another back to back? It doesn't make sense to me, but I believe it's David Cook's turn to win.
I loved this performance. He showed great vocal range and once again it was amazing. Rock on David.

That's interesting...but if that was true, we would have all the crappy people left and Simon would be pulling his hair out.
Your sister must have been a fan of Amanda and David H.
The people who are really good will probably be signed right after Idol because they'll still be well known.

Actually, my sister doesn't like any of the contestants this year. Her favorite season was season 4 - Carrie Underwood.
And we still have on crappy person left who should've left a long time ago - KLC.

Maybe its just me, he sounds so adorable when he talks like that?
If y'all miss any screencaps, I try and make some every night from my TV.
I missed a couple of audition cities and the top 8 guys, but the rest I have.

Do you have any idea where I can get the performance videos besides here? They work fine when I download them, but for some reason, once I convert them to put them on my iPod, they don't work anymore. I will use YouTube if I have to, even though they're RIDICULOUSLY hard to find now, but the quality is terribly. Anyone?

WHOA! honestly, when Michael Jackson sang this way back, I've never paid much attention to the lyrics, because we kids were into the dance choreography then. But when I heard David Cook sang Billie Jean, it just blew my mind. That here was so drama and story in the song, that I realized "How could this be a dance song, when this song is telling a very dramatic and emotional story?" Chris Cornell may have done this arrangement which David Cook stumbled upon (and he gave credit to Cornell), but David Cook made this song more popular with his own style for the now generation. Another stellar performance from DC, one that would go down in history as one of the greatest.

I've heard how Chris Cornell fans got mad when David Cook, did the Chris Cornell arrangement of Michael Jackson' Billie Jean. I know DC mentioned Chris Cornell, and Chris was very appreciative.
I've listened to Chris' version several times. DC's rendition may have been his arrangement, but as a listener, I found the two CC and DC's version not exactly the same. DC's was much better. If I heard Cornell's version before AI7, it wouldn't make such an impact to me as much as David Cook's version.
