Howdy! I'm a 22-year old Mass Communication/History major. I'm just wondering how many other college students are here. What's your major? Do you friends love him too? Most of my friends wouldn't be caught dead watching American Idol, so it's been a struggle finding like-minded fans at my school. Anyway that's about it for now...I must get back to my essay for my summer class lol

I'm a 21 year old (soon to be) Graphic Design major. (Hmm.. sound familiar? LOL). I've recently moved from a really big city to a smaller one, so now I'm having to do all the paperwork to transfer and all that. It's just something that I've always been interested in and have been doing since my mid-teen years. I'm pretty stoked about it!

That's cool I love art and I think that would be a fun field. From 4th grade, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. I used to write pretend news stories. Transferring isn't fun. I tranferred last fall after I graduated from a junior college. Do you work for your school's paper?

You know what? I used to dabble in writing but journalism was never something that interested me. So, no. I do have an immense respect for them (journalists) though because I know it's not easy.

I'm taking a Fashion Business and Creative Arts program at a school in downtown Vancouver.
My class size is pretty small (14), but I like it because we are all so close.
But I totally know what you mean about no one you know liking American Idol. Whenever I start to talk about it they give me this 'whatever crazy girl look' ... kind of like this

... or sometimes this

I try and not bring it up too much in class, which means I have to talk to someone about it
*I'm thankful for this board*

Thanks. Yeah, the media gets a lot of flack. I despise some aspects of it, but I don't plan on working in the "fast food" media that it shows like Inside Edition and so on...Interesting that we share in the creative fields for the most part. Cool.

Yep, another college student here. I'm 20 and I'm majoring in social work. I'm going to graduate next spring with my degree in social/applied sciences, and then I'm going to transfer to another school to get my degree for counseling

Being a college student isn't always fun...I mean, it's made it impossible for me to go to the Idol tour this summer, so I'm pretty bitter about it

Oh..and some of my friends like American Idol. Actually a lot of them do. The ones that don't have parents that do so I can talk to them instead..haha
Almost all of my friends loved DC this season too. I also converted my best friend into becoming a DC fan as well. She hates AI and thinks it's stupid, but she loves DC!

I am almost 24 years old and still in college. I originally wanted to do something with graphic design when I was in high school and even took a couple graphic design classes in school. After a couple semesters I realized it wasn't for me. Then I struggled to find out what I really wanted to do. I then headed towards elementary education. That lasted a year and to much strangeness I changed my mind again. As of this past January I am a nursing student and loving it more than I could imagination with anything else. I had tough times and watching American Idol released some of that stress. And to my astonishment, David Cook stole my heart

Only one my friends watch American Idol and she lives 1200 miles away. People at work thought I was crazy when I've talked about it these past few weeks. Therefore, I completely understand how it feels to be a college student alone in the Idol world HAHA.

I'm 22 years old and just graduated at the beginning of May with my bachelor of science in exercise science. However, I'm still a college student because I'm going to graduate school in the fall to start working on my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I go to a private university in North Dakota. When I originally interviewed for the physical therapy program, I got chosen as an alternate, so I thought I'd just work a year and then go for it next year. I had also planned that during my year off, I'd audition for American Idol since I've always wanted to but been concerned about school getting in the way. Without school, I figured I'd be ok. Well, fate stepped in and someone dropped out of the program, so now I'm in and it's too big of a committment to drop just to take a chance I might make it on Idol. But, I fully plan on making my dream of auditioning for AI come true as soon as I'm done making my dream of being a physical therapist true!!
I don't have a whole lot of friends around here who are into AI, but my family is and my mom LOVES David as well. Since they're still in Montana, they get the show an hour after I do, so the night of the big announcement I had to keep my mouth shut and not call my mom as soon as I knew David had won...couldn't ruin the big surprise!!

A few of my friends are Cookie fans but most don't watch AI. My best friend came home from school for the summer and we went out to dinner and, ofcourse, I had to play her some DC and when I did lets just say she became a fan real quick lol.
