I'm educatedly guesstimating the gifted range (though we all think he's a genuis from the emotional aspect
of how he's stolen our hearts!:)
I base my guess on these things: 1)he is personal skills are far above the average and he seems very well-balanced (genius level persons often have much difficulty in this area--many times they are not
people persons & they have, let's just say, not so much common sense. ie. I went to school w/ a
certified genius who blew his thumb off while making a pipebomb at home in his basement when
he should have been at school.)
2)he had a B average in school (genius level can pretty much pull of an A without
ever attending class), but I bet he got that B without going to alot of classes and only
a fair amount of studying!
Also, his logic & analytic skills are above average, not sure why math gave him a problem,
except maybe it just didnt interest him. You can definitely be left-handed and auditorily oriented
(creative) and yet have very strong other hemisphere. If you look online there is a test
you can take where you answer questions and then they'll show you an image of a brain scan
and where your "point" is (ie. stronger left or right hemisphere, auditory or visual, creative or analytical).
It is really cool and very accurate.
I am almost dead center, slightly to the visual side. and I did do slightly better in math & science in MS/HS school than English. Like A+ math/science versus A-/B+ in creative writing (in grammer courses I got A's--grammer is based on linguistics and syntax which is an analytic/logic skill). What is odd about this is that I am left-handed!!
I think I suppressed alot of that creative side during adolescence, but it has resurfaced w/ force in my adult years.
As for his B (3.0) average, he likely easily would have had closer to 4.0 if he had studied more; he said that
he skipped sometimes to do music.

I can relate somewhat. In college I let my GPA slip to 3.+
because I was too busy hanging out w/ friends and crammed for tests the nite before!! I guess
he is about 130-140. He has to be smarter than average to have been reading Foucault's Pendulum by
Umberto Eco, that is for sure!
