I will admit to having an addiction to romance novels, primarily Regency-set historicals. They're totally my guilty pleasure.

My favorite authors include Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Celeste Bradley, and Candice Hern. Anybody else read them?

Its a great story. I personally liked "The Kite Runner" better, but a
Thousand Splendid Suns is quite good as well.

It just took me a little longer to get into and a bit longer to finish. I read
The Kite Runner in like, 2 days I think.

I can't believe it took me this long to find this thread.. I LOVE to read.. OK, One new book i am reading right now is "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. It's pretty good so far.. For those of you who like Dan Brown, I stumbled on to another author who write books similar to Angels and Demons, etc.. His name is Steve Berry, I am rereading The Amber room, and also The templar Legacy, he has maybe 6-8 books out now, i believe.. Also, whoever was reading Phillipa Gregory, those books are great too! I love how part of the story is based partly on fact, and partly she has to fill in the blanks with what many people Think happened. Also will start to read Harry Potter again, I can't help it, it's an addiction

Woot...my kinda thread! LOL
I'm always reading! Usually more than one book at a time. One for home, one for work. Currently, at work, I am reading "Eclipse," the third in the "Twilight" series...and very impatiently waiting for the movie this fall. At home, i am re-reading "World War Z," which I highly recommend to any genre fan. A fun, interesting take on the whole zombie uprising/human-zombie war scenario. Never read anything like it.
Yes, I have an eclectic taste in books, I know.

Oh I loved Angels and Demons. I'm really glad I read it before I read The DaVinci Code because it helped with some of the backstory.
I just picked up Twilight by Stephanie Meyers, but I haven't started it yet.

Oh, my goodness - how do you do that? If I read just two books at a time (schoolbooks included), my mind usually forgets what I read in one.

I'm not that ambidexterous, which is pretty unfortunate as I'm taking Humanities and U.S. History right now, both of which depend a lot on memory.
It's actually pretty easy for me. I just choose books that are completely different genres so I can't get the storylines screwed up. But thank goodness the first summer session is over, 'cuz now my book count is down to 3.
QUOTE (SarahLee @ Jun 6 2008, 05:48 PM)

At any given time I usually have 5 or so books going at once. But the summer session of school has been really hectic so I've had to cut back.
I'm half way through Doctor Zhivago and once you learn the names the book doesn't seem so hard. At first I was confusing all the characters.
I must have been living under a rock because I discovered the Twilight series on another website just three days ago and I bought a copy of Twilight. My friend with me was telling me how they show the filming of the movie every week on TRL and I had never even heard of it. Since I began reading it I haven't been able to put it down. It's incredibly romantic for being a "teen" series. I keep imagining Edward Cullen as Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance. I don't know why, I think it's the way he's described and his personality.
Another book I'm reading is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. It's an amazing book that's beautifully written. I don't even care for motorcycles but I find the book captivating.

I've also added the book David mentioned in his Seattle Times interview to my wish list at Amazon - "lullaby" by chuck palahniuk - he also mentioned another book in an old blog, but now I can't find where that was posted.... if anybody remembers, let me know - I'd like to add that to the "gotta read list" too.

Well, I started "In Her Shoes," but then the Cookie obsession kicked in, so ... um, the book has been untouched on my nightstand since I discovered this place!

I've also been trying to read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged," but damn...that book is heavy! Literally... haha
LOL! The same thing happened to me. I was about 50 pages in to Tuesdays with Morrey back in March, but then my OCDCD kicked into full gear and like your novel, my remains untouched. In fact, I took out the bookmark. I am going to have to start over another time....maybe this fall.
My primary love for novels are crime novels. I love James Patterson....all the books with Detective Alex Cross (Along Came A Spider, Kiss the Girls, Cat & Mouse, etc).
