Finished Breaking Dawn. Not as good as the other books, in my opinion, but a good ending nonetheless.

Now reading an advanced reading copy of The Clinton Diaries. Oh, boy. blink.gif
CanadianCookie
I'm reading White Oleander again by Janet Fitch.

It's an amazing story!
T.C. Robson
Just finished The Clinton Diaries. Ugh. Glad it's over, to be honest. Here's my review for it if interested: http://bookshelfreviews.blogspot.com/2008/...-petrovsky.html

Now I'm starting The Front Porch Prophet by Raymond L. Atkins. Another book review, then I might finally be able to check out some of the new books I got. smile.gif

So now I am re-reading Michael Crichton's The Andromeda Strain. I don't know why, but think that book is SOO interesting! I've read it like 5 times! biggrin.gif

I am one of the biggest book worms you will ever find, I have wasted away my weekends curled up with a good book a plethora of times. ( I had to use that word, in honor of DC.)

Currently, I am finishing up Breaking Dawn from the Twilight Saga. It's amazingly good, although I expected it to be better. I am at a loss for what I should read next though - any ideas?

I've got a load of books on my bookstand and piles more after that. But the book I'm focusing on right now is 'No God in Sight' by Altaf Tyrewala. Powerful book.

Then for fun, I'm also reading passages from 'Plato and a Platypus Walk Into a Bar...Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes' by Thomas Cathcart & Daniel Klein. It's a NYT Bestseller. Good stuff.

Next on my list to read is 'The Satanic Verses' by Salman Rushdie which I have never read. Looking forward to it.

lindzluffsacookie
I'm reading fanfics.
Agent Krycek
Mark Billingham's Into the Dark - normally I love his stuff, he writes about areas of London I know well, and his main character Tom Thorne is well developed. However, this is a stand alone and he's got a woman as his main character and he really doesn't write women that well. I will finish it, but it slightly disappointing so far.

D Girl
I just started my first true crime novel. A Rose for her Grave (Ann Rule). I LOVE IT!!!!

If you haven't read them, and depending what you like, I'd highly recommend The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas is another good read. It's aimed at children, but can completely be read by adults, very moving and very thought provoking (and I really shouldn't have read it in public unsure.gif ).

The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly (actually anything by him is worth reading.) - sort of a Grimms Fairy Tale, but much darker and more adult (by which I don't mean rude biggrin.gif )

A word of warning, I'm as big a crier as David, safe to say I sobbed my eyes out at various points during all of those books - the last 50 odd pages of The Book Thief nearly had my hysterical unsure.gif

Right now I am "perusing" a book by the name of "Peeps" it's a vampire story by Scott something or other. It's my first time reading a book of his! We'll see how it goes!

Just finished The Front-Porch Prophet. (Took me longer than I expected, but it was worth it! Very good book.) Now I'm starting Playing with Fire from the Skulduggery Pleasant series, authored by Derek Landy.

This is an awesome book...I do agree though that it is very sad at parts, especially the end.

Right now I'm reading Cinderella Man by Jeremy Schaap...the same true story that the movie is based off of. It's summer reading for school, but it's pretty interesting. I have watch the movie too, so that shouldn't be too bad.
Balla

Very interesting thread you guys. I'm going to check back in here when I need a book recommendation.

I JUST got The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, which I'm looking forward to reading.

I just glanced through some of the recommendations on this last page and I wanna add my recommendation for Khaled Hosseini's 'The Kite Runner' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' and'Memory Keeper's Daughter' by Kim Edwards. I really really LOVED reading 'The Time Traveller's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger, very interesting concept to consider. wink.gif
