I have David Cook's version of Little Sparrow on my iPod, and after listening to it for awhile, I kept on wondering what the lyrics meant. I mean, what's the song basically about? And what point of view is the song sung from?

you do have to remember that this song was written by dolly, a woman. im pretty sure he didnt change any of the lyrics. its just saying that women should beware of men who will love them and leave them. pretty self explanatory really.

now that i think of it, i *think* he says 'handsome man' instead of hearts. but i may be wrong.

No I'm pretty sure he says the hearts of men but I can see how you're confused. Yes basically what she said about the meaning.

At first I thought he said "handsome man" as well, but after I listed a couple times I realized he was saying "hearts of men." Glad to know I wasn't the only one who misheard it, though.
