Mmm just a quick note: I've been getting countless PM's asking for DC's Xanga Posts, and I am terribly sorry to say that I have to decline to post them up anywhere on the net. You can go this his Xanga though, for what it's worth. He has removed the posts now, but you can friend him and stuff.

I've seen the alleged Xanga posts. They have very little to do with music, so I agree with Padfoot on this one...specially if DC's Xanga page is back up sans those posts.

*sighs* Yes, I did think of that, and it's unfair, really, but thinking about it, I thought it would be even more unfair to David to parade them around like some trophy. *frowns* I actually sent in a question, asking David is he would mind sharing his posts, as they were pretty inspirational or at least, it gives people something to relate to. But I think.... dropping the subject for the time being is apropos. Further discussion will only ah... infuriate you more. I'm really sorry *sighs*.

Thanks a lot, KN.
It's really nice to read this and be reminded of David as he was and truly is (before the current promotional packaging got involved in filtering him to the masses). I'm sure he's happy to be gaining millions of new fans, but I bet he'd be glad to know there's a large core of us who love him just as he was before Idol.
He's just so likeable (and such a normal musician guy) as he and his career grow and evolve.
During the Leno interview, when asked why he wasn't initially interested in Idol, he said "I was happy with what I was doing. I kinda felt like I was heading in the right direction on my own, albeit at a much slower pace."
You can totally see and understand that, reading his blog.
Thanks again for sharing this.

And I agree, it's a pity really, if we'd known about him then, I would be just a big fan as I am now. Analog Heart has got to be one of the most listened to albums on my iPod. Also, here he seems so normal, where else after all that filtering, he becomes a little too good to be human, you know what I mean?

Just like most people here, DC once had a blog at Xanga, however, unlike his myspace one which he kept to connect with fans, his Xanga was a completely personal one. Therefore, posting it here would be a breach of privacy.

Cool to be able to read these and relate more to David. In writing, it seems you can get a clearer perspective of someone's thought processes and personality. With AI and now, David was extremely aware every word he uttered was being scrutinized (and I imagine he chose his words very carefully) so it's nice to see this. Thanks.

This was really nice to read.
Obviously his life changed a lot. But that second album exists, and even if nothing of it is included in the new album I'd love if we could hear it. Analog Heart is great, and I have no doubt that OtaF would be even better. he grows and improves. Also, the song OtaF is amazing, one of my favs, so I reaaaaalllllyyyy would love to listen to everything.
I think maybe something of it will make the cut. With better production I'm sure his music would be radio friendly.

I'm so glad someone found this thread and posted a recent comment - else I might never have read it. Guess now I need to go back and search through some of the older threads - who knows what gems might be hiding there!
It was great to read David's pre-Idol musical history from his personal standpoint. He obviously had a clear plan that he was following. I'm certain he would have made it eventually, but am glad that AI has catapulted him to superstardom, as otherwise I might not ever have known about or had the pleasure of listening to all of his wonderful music.
I am also glad that David's pre-Idol fans and friends helped him choose "Analog Heart" as the name of his album, as he does indeed "Wear his heart on his sleeve", as we have all witnessed. I think that personality trait is part of what allows him to put so much emotion into the songs that he sings.

It is so unfortunate he had to remove those posts. Of course I am curious about what it was. But mostly I think it's too bad because his fans LOVE him and I can't imagine there would be anything on there that would change our minds about that. Oh, there have been a few people, no doubt, that have been offended by this or that, like would be offended by the douche nozzle comment, but most of us just laugh and love him more because he's so normal and so perfect at the same time. All of his fans, I think, would love to know anything we can find out about him. I don't think I'm the only completely captured by him.
Did those of you who went to that page notice what was up in the right corner? It was "Sure, sex is probably out of the question." Yeah. I knew that. But I'm still disappointed!!!

That was really cool. I wish I had known about him too, although I might not have cared for it at the time, I think I like it now because I'm used to him, I normally don't listen to grungy rock stuff. I was reading about his album from on link on here somewhere and he said he might put one of those songs on his new album. I think he should do a double album release and put out Optimistic to a Fault and his AI ablum out at the same time, cause I would love to hear those songs. It also says in the article that he's co-writing, which I guess he loves it cause there are some big names, but I'm a little disappointed, I wanted it to be all him, but that's the way Idol stuff works I suppose. I mean look what happened when Kelly wanted to write her own music and stuff. Was hoping David could change all that crap.

I just realized something about my post. I should have said a triple album release; AH, OtaF, and the new one, boy the stores wouldn't know what hit them. It would be like when Harry Potter comes out or something. There would be cookie fans lined up at midnight to get in and get them, at least to me I think it should be that way. I wish they could make more AH CD's and put out his second album sometime soon.

Proves he's honest and wants to do this. I loved the Market Pub on Thursdays! He's been working hard at his own gig. He also writes with an interesting flair for a young 20 yr old - and he likes to "gab" as you can tell. I thought all his mussings were very real and fun to read. He does wear his heart on his sleeve - he's an emotional kind of person - and there ain't nothing wrong with that!
