I know that many of us are going to show up early to wait for the buses in hopes of meeting our man! Since there are a few of us, I thought it would be really fun to tailgate before the show. We could have several kinds of food and drinks and OF COURSE, we'll listen to David!

The only thing is I don't remember where the parking is so we may have to wait by the buses and meet David first *knocks on wood.* Then, we could go back to the parking lot at 2 or 3, depending if we get to meet the Idols or not, and party!!! Or, if you want, we can just party right where we're waiting for David!

Me 2! I know that if you get there early there is a certain parking area that is close to where the busses park. The only thing is, where the buses park, i can't explain it, but the buses almost park down into a parking garage type lot with no roof, so you will be able to see the busses, but from an elevated level, we will not be able to get close to them.

I go out on camus almost every other weekend to go drinking/dancing with my friend so I will swing by and snap a photo of what I am talking about. But I will tell you one thing I got backstage to meet the season 2 idols on a whim so theres no lost hope, so maybe the same rules of the game apply, hopefully! Will keep u gals posted!

So, if we get there early enough, will we be able to park in that parking lot? That would be awesome if you could post a picture! I'm glad that I have two people on board so far! What do we want to have for food?

I have been to this place many times for various idol shows and at each one some of the idols have came up from the below bus area to meet fans, that have a baricade set up that you can stand up against and as long as everyone plays it cool, security is nice there. Just try to stay out of the way and be polite and they are great there. I will be there in Columbus but don't know what time yet, I still need to get tickets. The parking lot is close to the bus area...you have to cross a mini street and then you are there, it is free parking if you get there early and there is a tram if you get there later.

That's good to know that they come out and meet with the fans, I would imagine the two David's would be untouchable though, I remember they never brought out Ruben and Clay Aiken to come out to meet with the fans a few times on the tour, so with as popular as the two David's are, they might need 3 or more bodyguards for each guy. Not that I'd attack anyone...

I don't know...I think that if the crowd is cool then they will probably come up. I mean last year Jordan came up and the year before that Taylor came up..so the winners do come up. I mean there isn't usually as big of a crowd for before the show. Last year I think at the most there was 25-30 people.

Thanks wordnerd29 for all your help! It sounds like it will just be easier to try to meet the Idols first, then have our little tailgate party. We are going to have LOTS of time to kill!

I really hope our family gets to go to the show! We have a three year old boy that is on oxygen continuously so we'll have to try to get "handicapped" seats. I've contacted VCA to see if they have any available.

Hi girls!

I'm getting really confused with all the boards and different IDs. I'm coordinating the gift basket, and have an e-mail list going. Is everyone here on there? If you're not and want to be part of the gift basket, please message me asap. I don't want to leave anyone out. I think most of us are planning to be there at 10:30 ish. Some are going to lunch, so are tailgating. I'm game for whatever.

Oh, and I am in direct contact with a coordinator at the Schot Center. He said there was a fenced area we could stand near to try and get a look at the idol's when they came on the busses. He doesn't know when that will be - they come when they come, he said.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. - not a big deal to us since we will be there all day! The buses come in off of Fred Taylor drive right into the loading dock area on the south side of the building.

Maybe we should pick a place around the Schott to meet? Like the ticket entrance or at the loading dock area? That way we don't all have to try and park in the same lot. I'm going to try and park on the other side of Fred Taylor Drive .....

I think it would be great if, whenever all the information is complied, there could be one post & or email directed towards that. Where to meet, What time etc...so that no one is confused & ultimately left out.

I also wanted to say that I have ONE ticket available if anyone wants it. It's a primo floor ticket! If you are interested, please PM me & I'll give you the link to the eBay auction. I priced the ticket very reasonably, unlike a lot of other people. It's a "Buy It Now" auction so first come, first serve!

One more thing....I really like the idea of having Buckeyes at the tailgate! You know it's impossible to have a party or tailgate in the state of Ohio without them! GO BUCKS!

Way to go tailgaters! Just a heads up... for those of you that are over 21 and enjoy adult beverages... remember that Columbus & Ohio State have strict "open container" policies for tailgates on Ohio State property. Sometimes they don't even give a warning before they ticket... I've seen this happen many times at football games and other concerts... I'd just hate to see any DC fans run into problems with the law!

It seems like several people from this site have had very good luck when it comes to meeting the idols if they get there early enough, so I want to be there so bad. My only problem is that i am going to the concert with my husband and he refuses to get there that early and sit around waiting all that time. So what should I do?? I'm thinking about seeing if he will just drop me off there and then he can go do his own thing for a few hours until its time for the concert to start. I think that would work for me, as long as you guys dont mind me hanging out there with all of ya. I just dont want my husband to get mad at me and think im ditching him, but I really dont care about that if i get to meet DC. It would all be worth it!!

I'm not sure who is going to the tail gate thing or who is the party planner but I will def be there and I just needed to know what time? If there is nobody planning the thing let me know and I will step up.

***On another note: Is anyone setting up a canopy/ tent? You know those tall tents that people use when tailgating? -they're usually red or white. I was hoping for something like this b/c we all know how hot, humid & rainy it can get in Columbus in July. HEY!! It's awesome to see so many people interested in tailgating! There is a group of us already planning on being there around 11am and just hanging out all day. Just bring your favorite snack and some beverages, which I think that alcohol should be excluded, and we'll listen to some music!!! I can't believe it's just ten days away!!!!

I agree about the no alcohol...unless....it's properly concealed ....otherwise, isn't it like a $100 fine for open containers on campus now? At any rate, I am super excited! I keep reading all these stories about other board members experiences & all it does is make me day dream all day about what ours is going to be like!

So, I just checked the 10 forecast and right now they are saying 85 degrees mostly cloudy and a 20 percent chance of rain, so that is good news. Hopefully the forecast will stay the same. I can't wait for this show!!

I plan to try and be there but I'm not sure what time. I'm bringing my 9 year old daughter. She doesn't get to go to the concert since a friend of mine bought the tickets so I thought this would be the next best thing...and maybe she won't be so mad at me. I went on Ticketmaster at 3:30 in the afternoon yesterday to check out what kind of tickets they had available and ended up with third row seats! I definitly had to jump on the chance and I bought one, I would have bought two but I wasn't sure if any of my friends really wanted to go with me so I am going by myself. This is my first time doing something like this by myself so I am very very nervous (I have a being alone complex!) but I am optimistic I am going to have fun and I will def. try to come up to the tailgaiting party! eeeeeeeeeee!

So excited! I can't believe its tomorrow, ack!!!! Does anyone have a general idea of where at the S. Center tailgaters are meeting up? I'm being dropped off and would like an idea of where to go. Don't want to be on the wrong side of the building cuz i'd probably do that haha.

Go to the side were the loading dock for the buses is. Last year we waited on the bridge for Blake tocome up Phil Staceyand Blake Lewis ran up the big ass hill because they didnt know just a littleways down there was stairs behind a fenced gate. Jordin,Hayley,and Melinda took the stairs
