Hi David,

First congratulations on the victory. I know that you have said that anything beyond being in the top 24 was icing, but your win was very important to your fans, because now we get to hear and see much more of you. So 'Thank you' for all the hard work you did, so that we can enjoy your music. I hope you can try to enjoy this success too, even though you will probably be exhausted at first.

I feel that part of the reason you have such a loyal following so early in your career (beyond your unbelievable talent, your unique, sultry, raspy voice, your genuine smile, and your expressive eyes) is the beauty of your soul which shines through in your performances. From your brothers' initials on your guitar, to the Lindsey Rose bracelet, to the 'give back' on your hand, to your mention of Luke Menard's diagnosis on Larry King, your generous nature is readily apparent. (The Lindsey Rose bracelet really meant alot to me personally, since my son also has Leukemia). It is also easy to see that you are approachable, intelligent and that you have a good sense of humor.

This leads me to say don't change. That will be the most difficult thing you have to accomplish now. You have the intelligence, work ethic and talent to win any award that you decide to chase. It will be much more difficult to remain the David Cook that America has become captivated with. Remember who you are, where you come from, what you believe.

I will keep you, your brother, his family and your entire family, Luke, and Lindsey in my prayers. Take care of yourself (especially that blood pressure) and keep singing us and bringing us those intense, mesmerizing performances.
Thank you and God Bless You.
