So I called my local Top 40 station Alice 107.7, and I requested Time of My Life. She said they weren't playing it. I said, you aren't ever going to play it? She said, no not right now, have a good day..and then hung up. What gives? Is it the wrong genre or what? They play Daughtry constantly. Totally bummed me out.

I just looked at the station's website myself, and their "now playing" section showed a Jordin Sparks tune. So, yeah, really weird that they aren't playing David's single. Maybe you could email them and ask what's up.

Well, since you posted this in this section. I'll respond anyway. There is a process in which songs get to radio and what the heart of the matter is, DJ's don't make the decision in what songs get airplay and which ones don't. It's up to their bosses, the program directors. It could be that the DJ may play it but doesn't have permission to do so just yet or they may not have the song.

If this helps anyone, it's mostly top 40, HAC (Hot Adult Contemporary), and AC (Adult Contemporary) stations that are playing the song. If they are playing Jordin, then they should be playing the song, but the most important thing to remember is what I said in the first paragraph in this post. Try to give them a little more time to add the song. This song went to radio much quicker than Jordin's winning song did last year.

The song probably hasn't been added to their playlist yet and therefore the DJ's can't play it for you.
