I'm sure most of you already know all this stuff,but I am new to DC and I thought some others might be too,so I thought id' share these kool facts I found!

David was born in Houston, but her grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was living in Tulsa, Oklahoma when he tried out for American Idol.

David was 25 during the American Idol competition. He was born on December 20, 1982.

David has two brothers, Adam Cook and Andrew Cook. Adam, who is battling cancer, touched the hearts of viewers when he traveled to LA to attend one of David's performances. David says he draws inspiration from both of his brothers.

David started singing when he was in the second grade when his teacher, Mrs. Gentry, made him perform in the Christmas pageant. He performed in school choirs during his childhood.

David attended Central Missouri State University, which is located in Warrensburg, MO. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in Graphic Design.

David, who plays the guitar, played in the band Axium, which has recorded three albums. He was also a member of the band MidWest Kings. David released an independent album, 'Analog Heart,' in 2006.

David calls himself an "expert tv watcher" and he reportedly loves word puzzles.
