I waited very patiently for David to come to me. The bodyguard kept saying "step back ladies, he will come to you." So I squeaked out... "David are you coming to me?" and he says, "I'm coming to everybody!" After being pushed back a few times I finally get a little aggressive and worm my way towards him. People tend to stand in place in shock after meeting him rather than moving out of the way for the rest of us. As he was taking a picture I put my hand on his arm to get him to turn to me next. And yes, at that point I actually looked down at my hand and left my body. I heard myself say to myself..."I'm touching David Cook's arm."
I had taken Beth's suggestion and actually printed out the cd cover artwork for Analog Heart. I put it in front of him and said, "David can you sign this?" (Honestly anything I say happened from this point on is quite vague because I was literally floating around outside my body as I went on autopilot.) I did see his face kind of light up when he saw it and I believe he said something to the effect of "Oh, Cool." I'm pretty sure I bumbled something like... "I love it" and he told me that he actually designed it. To that I said, "Yes, I know and I smiled." He took a picture with me and then I thanked him and then I stepped away from the crowd.
I couldn't stop beaming. Haha. I just kept staring at the picture and my autograph in awe.
It was AHHHHmazing.

I watched this just a little bit ago, and I realize this was taped yesterday but he had to have been in quite a good mood. I think this was my favorite (although too short) interview of sorts because he just seemed so genuinely happy and a bit playful. That was fanTABulous

Just watched this in Chicago... His English accent is so cute! What a guy! He's not just going to do music..I see him doing all of it..the whole deal...acting, comedy,all of it...so nice that we'll have so much to look at and enjoy.....ahhhhhhhhhh

Great pics! I gotta say, that song never gets old for me, even if these shows feel compelled to have a piano as the only instrument backing him up. (Where's the guitar America fell in love with?) Seriously, his voice is too big for just a piano. lol Maybe that'll come after his first post-AI album? At least he played guitar on Ellen. lol I just feel like he's holding back on his glory notes cuz of those darn pianos. lol Anyone else feel that way? Hi I've been lurking for a few days and finally decided to post. Yes I'm one of the "mature" women who has become obsessed in the past week, while trying to keep up normal appearances! (BTW I told all my co-workers after "Hello" that I really liked this guy and thought he had a good chance to win it all).
Anyway, I know this segment was taped yesterday, but I'm confused about the show in general -- some of the segments appear to be live, some are obviously taped, but the host (Maggie?) was wearing the same outfit during the DC interview as she did during the live outdoor segments from this morning? Is that wardrobe trying to fool us, or is the whole thing pre-taped (how do they tape the weather reports done outside in front of the same crowd?)

It makes me so happy that so many fans are going to David's appearances to support him! He's making new fans just by singing his heart out, but it's nice that his established AI fans are there shouting and screaming for him. I can't imagine how he must be feeling right now, it must be so surreal to him.
