We were actually considering for the first time in Idol's seven years to go the concert here in Wilkes Barre, PA mainly because of David Cook but we also like many of the top ten. I tried to order but found out it was the night before they went on sale. I had to work the next day late but I tried again that night and saw that all the best seats were already sold. I was angry but understood my misfortunate timing until I noticed how many of the good seats are being offered online right now at a greatly increased price. It just really is low of some of these jerks who want to make a profit like this. Seats we could have bought for under $100 now are being offered for $200 and up and they are the good seats I would have fairly bought. I certainly will not pay these profiteers anything and I just wish there was a way for Ticketmaster to stop it. How about asking the government to pass a law banning scalping and fine anyone who is found to be trying to sell tickets for a profit. It would be too easy to catch half of these people right now as the tickets are blatantly being offered online.
Now we are resigned to watching what performances appear through TV. At least we can look forward to what should be a great album from David and congrats on the #1 Time of my life.

It certainly is frustrating, isn't it? It seems that different states have different laws regarding ticket brokers. Even Ticketmaster holds back the best seats to auction them off, though. It stinks, but it is what it is. Really, the only way to have it stop is to not purchase the tickets from the brokers or from the people on eBay so that they lose the money. But, you know that won't happen because people want to go to the concerts. You will always find some person to buy those tickets.
We did have a situation one time when there was a person on eBay trying to sell some tickets to a Bo Bice concert in Birmingham where all the proceeds from the concert were going to the Katrina victims. This guy was trying to sell some of the tickets at a much higher price. I contacted him and asked him if he was going to donate all the money he was trying to make to the charity and, of course, I got a smart mouth reply from him indicating he was not. Well, nobody purchased the the tickets from him and he was forced to eat the cost. He was furious but, IMO, he got what he deserved.

Yeah. I agree. I am going to have to order the cheaper tickets and just thank God I am there. Unless a couple of weeks before the show - the Scalpers lower their prices.
