I was able to download it onto my computer using RealPlayer (free download) directly from the American Idol performance videos site. However, my few attempts at tranferring it to my iPod have been futile. At least I have it available in case AI ever removes it from their site (like they did the top 24 perfomances). If anyone knows how to convert a file so you can get it on the iPod, let me know. Thanks!
I wish they would just make it available on iTunes. I would gladly pay for it.

I couldn't find how to directly convert one to iPod format (called MP4), but I found how to convert other kinds of videos to iPod format so you can try converting the file to something else and then converting it again... *shrug* \A site with many tutorials for video iPod converting.

This is the .mp4 (also known as .mpeg4) file I use for my iPod Touch. I can't remember if I originally converted it from .wmv or .flv. I use a program I found somewhere (free) called "YouTube Downloader." It not only automatically downloads YT videos to your computer (which are .flv or Flash Video files), but it also converts files to the iPod format, plus other formats.

It's not HQ, but it looks pretty good on my iPod Touch.
