I've seen David perform NUMEROUS times and have never been disappointed. I've Known of him for about five years and known him for about for. He's an awesome rocker, vocalist, and singer. This is such an awesome thing for him and I only wish him the best:)

I know him too...I just haven't talked to him since the day we graduated CMSU. But I had a couple of classes with him in high school, watched the plays he was in, and got to as many of his Axium concerts as possible.

Hmm...probably as a classmate and someone who made his best effort to go see all of this shows. If I'm unlucky, that kid in glasses I knew back in high school...oh, and did I go to college with him, too? I tended to talk more with Bobby than David as far as Axium members go, at least in college. In high school, we had all our creative writing classes together.
Caelestia
What was he like? Did he have any interesting stories for creative writing? smile.gif

I loved creative writing! My teacher was awesome! biggrin.gif That's like a perfect class for David.. I'm sure he came up with some interesting and articulate stories. smile.gif

As I said in the middle name thread, I'm not sharing his high school pics, and it's not only because I don't have a scanner. I guess I just want to protect whatever modicum of privacy the dude has left. I have other stuff I could share, too (his original Axiom CD in high school, his contributions to the school literary magazine, etc.) but I'm a big proponent of privacy.

And Caelestia, David was of course more known for his musical endeavours back in high school. I personally don't remember any of his works from the classes, but I do have the liteary magazines handy where he did some art. He had two pieces each in the 2000-01 and 2001-02 magazines, and was on the staff with me for the latter one. His art in the liteary magazines tended toward parody/humor, such as politician caricatures and a mock driver's license.

That's cool! I didn't know he did art too. I love political caricatures.

Goofier would be an adequate, if somewhat mean-spirited, word to use. But hey, we all have phases where we don't look so great. And besides, looking through the yearbooks was jarring, comparing my last memories of him to how he looks now, and then to flash back 6 years and it's nothing similar at all. The voice, however, remains the same - powerful, awesome.
Stefernie

I know I'd cry if someone posted my 8th grade picture on the Internets.

Good for you. I was a little worried, when someone asked, that you were actually going to share. There's also permission from him, the school, the year book company...for some of that stuff you need permission to republish.

If David gets far enough along I'm sure the Axiom songs will come around and be sold to the general public...I'm sure his bandmates wouldn't mind a little piece of that commision.

I'd probably be really weirded out of someone I knew was on American Idol, especially if they shared a lot of talent in High school like it seems like David did. But also really excited at the same time because you can tell everybody "I went to high school with him!"

I didn't even think of the permission angle, but I should've. Either way, there's close to a 1000 other people that have those eyearbooks, so ask them.

As for Axiom songs getting out, not very likely. I know a lot of people at South paid 5 or 10 bucks for the 5-song CD, but as of now I've only talked to two people who say they still have it. I even got mine autographed by Bobby and David. I suppose I could put a picture up later to prove it exists. As for the other bandmates, Bobby and David were the two main ones - they stayed with it through college. One of the two other Axiom members in high school, Anthony, was killed in 2005.

I was extremely weirded out when I heard David was on AI, because it just didn't fit with my image of him. But if it turns into his vehicle for greater success, then more power to him.

Ooo...keep that CD! You never know how famous he will be.

AI has probably polished up his singing a bit right? Or has he always sounded as great as he does? I'm sure his singing style has changed over time.

I'm biased, but I always thought he sang great. Perhaps he's less gravely-voiced now, but he can still belt it out.

Stonecreek,
I just wanted to say, I think that's awesome, and I really respect you for your discretion.
As a side note- I would cringe if my yearbook picture were posted anywhere. Not to mention the stupid things I wrote in the yearbook (Hoping my best friend doesn't see this and get any ideas). But, for most people high school is one awkward stage after another.

I went to high school in Tulsa with a girl named Krista Branch that made it to Hollywood this year, but got cut before the top 24. Weird thing is, I never knew SHE had the talent. Her husband, on the other hand, was the one I always saw performing. Haha! Too bad she didn't make it...she was good! I think she just fell apart in the end. sad.gif

It so doesn't fit with his image... I don't think he really thought that would happen. I think he was quoted saying something about it like "it must be bigger than me"... the guy I knew in Tulsa probably never watched an episode of AI until he was researching for his own self. But it's a great thing that it all fell into his lap. He's such a talented and kind-hearted individual. Can't believe what all has happened for him in just 6 months!

somebody did scan and upload all his high school yearbook photos

i've seen them at the pictures site here.

i've never seen him perform, sad.gif sadly, but i agree with everything you've said

There are a ton of high school pictures up at various sites, and you can easily download a lot of the Axium stuff. The sites his friends run have a lot of that stuff (and he has given them permission to run it), so I wouldn't make such a big deal about his "privacy." It's not like they are naked pictures or something, and they were public at one time. But, whatevs. Different strokes.
