Hello all fellow Cookies and Word-Nerds!

I'm Kristen, from Melbourne, FL (home of Robbie Carrico - no, I don't know him) and I have been a fan of David's since his audition. He is AMAZING. I've been watching American Idol since season three, but this was the first time that I truly CARED about whether or not someone won and I was pulling for David from the start. I have to admit, however, that I did not start voting until late in the game. In past years I would vote and vote and vote and then get annoyed if the person (or persons) I had spent all that time dialing for had then been voted off, so this year I swore I wasn't going to get wrapped up in it..... until Michael Johns was voted off. That lit a fire under my posterior and I made it my goal that that would NOT happen to my David. I was up until 1am the night before the finale, as I'm sure most of you were (or whatever time the voting ended in your time zone), and I don't regret a single minute of missed sleep. I am so thrilled for David that he won. I cried right along with him and have cried a couple times since then (anyone seen the Disney commercial???) and I'm SO looking forward to watching his career blossom. He is such a talented, genuine and interesting soul... and adorable as well.

If he (or anyone close to him) reads this..... CONGRATULATIONS from the depths of my being and "welcome to the planet, welcome to existance.... everyone's here.... everybody's watching you now... everybody waits for you now.... what happens next?"

Love and hugs to all.... especially David wink.gif

~Kristen

P.S. Oh, and by the way David, if you ARE "GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!".... I'd be happy to escort you (having worked there for five years myself) wink.gif

Welcome, Kristen.

Yeah, that was a shocker when MJ got voted off, huh? No insult to the other contestants intended, but I
thought he was better than some of the ones that lasted longer.

I think David's going to continue to do phenomenally well because in addition to his magnificent voice
he is a great person, like musicians who have maintained popularity for a long time (and I hope
he does too).

HEY! Welcome to the site, great to have you here!

...loved to use of 'posterior' btw hehe tongue.gif

I honestly thought it would come down to David Cook and Carly Smithson, so I was shocked when she was voted off as well. No offense to Jason Castro or Sayesha Mercado, but they (and Archie) are limited in their genres/styles and don't have the polish that DC and Carly do. Michael Johns should have made it to at least the top four or five. I think he'll do well anyway. And if this music thing doesn't work out, he can always be a card dealer in Vegas wink.gif

Thanks! It's nice to be here!

BTW - your avatar is scary.... there will be no dying. I've had quite enough of that this year with the loss of Heath Ledger. I won't survive another Idol's fall (no pun intended).

UGH! I WISH I could go see the tour.... They have two stops in Florida, both of which are like a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive for me, and being that they are on a Wednesday and Thursday, there's just no way. If they were on the weekend, I could possibly swing it, but I just can't get that lucky. Plus, with the economy the way it is, I'm not making as much money as last year and simply cannot afford the ticket OR the gas money. I'm sick about the whole thing. If the tour was coming to the King Center here in Melbourne, I'd be there with bells on!

Maybe I'll win tickets..... and call in sick the next day..... hmmm..... wink.gif

Thanks for the welcome! Thanks also for friending me! It's good to be here among my fellow word-nerds!

~Kristen

Welcome. I just would like to say that I envy you for being able to work with Disney. I know what you mean about income and the location being far. It starts in Glendale, which is only an hour away, but when I have to drive an hour to get to work every day {And pay for college among other things} it's a little much. And the fees tagged onto the tickets are scary. I've been listening to the radio to try to get the give-aways. Good luck to all of us who try, I say!

So from one Word-Nerd to another: Welcome!

Thanks Lirix!

I hope that everyone who wants to go, gets to, and that there are more give-aways this year than before. That would be another way that Idol could "give back", you know?
Working at Disney was a blast and if I could go back, I would, but therein lies another financial woe. They don't pay as well as I'd like. Such is life.
Good luck on winning tickets! Take care! ~Kristen

P.S. how does one get an assigned "word nerd" number???

I understand, I'm working as a tech for a physical therapist and barely crawling away with any income after paying for the gas.

So, to get an official Word Nerd number you need to be a member of the AI forum {but it's not hard to sign up} and then go to this thread and request a number: The New and Improved David Cook Fanlisting

I'm beginning to think I should keep that in my siggy...

I'm on board for that IGB!

Welcome Kristen! smile.gif I too feel your pain about being too far away from the desired venue. I live about 4 to 4 1/2 hours away from Charlotte and with the price of gas, there is no way I can go either. I feel the same way that you do though, I hope that those who get the chance to go will go. I think it will be an experience they will never forget. smile.gif
