I was'nt too sure when they would start playing our boy on the radio so i have been listening whenever possible and TODAY IT HAPPENED! I was strapping my 4 year old (her birthday is today) in the car and I heard it. I turned it up as loud as I could. Great moment! It's only the beginning guys! Just wait until the rest of America catches on to what we allready know. David Cook is awesome! I just hope he has the chance to hear himself on the radio. I am sure it would be a HUGE moment for him.

My local pop station has been playing him anywhere from 3 to 6 times a day.
It was #4 on tonight's top 8 at 8 countdown.
Nationwide, TOML is currently #52 in pop, #19 in AC and #32 in HAC (before the impact date of 6/3).
And, as a little bonus, I don't know if any of you watch any soap operas, but, I confess to watching As The World Turns and in one of the scenes of today's episode (taking place in a nightclub) TOML was playing. It was awesome.
ETA: On itunes, TOML is #3 in the US, #1 in Canada and #2 in Finland.

Has anyone in the Chicago area heard TOML on the radio? I have been listening to WLIT(93.9), 99.9 The Nine, 105.9 FRESH, and 101.9 the Mix. I haven't heard David's single one time. I have it streaming to my computer at work all day. I switch off from station to station and have checked their online playlists. None of them have played it at all as far as I can see. Frustrating?

I saw on the yes.com site yesterday that WCRX played the song. I think it just depends on good timing. I got to hear the song for the first time late this morning on my local HAC (Hot Adult Contemporary) station. According to the DJ, they were getting tons of requests for it!
Sometimes it just takes time for stations to get a hold of the song.

They've been playing it regularly on WPLJ in New York City. They've also played clips of his singing at the basketball game, etc. Lots of radio time for David in NY! Great to hear and definitely deserved!

I heard TOML 3 times today. Twice on Sirius Hits 1 -- once this afternoon and then again tonight when it was #4 on their Top 5 countdown. I also heard it on K92 in Roanoke, VA where it was also #4 on their "High 5 at 9" countdown. Pretty good since it's only the third day that K92 has been playing it!

just to share.
i'm from the philippines and our local radio stations have been playing DC songs since early may. in fact, his studio version of always be my baby was the number 1 song on the station i listen to even before he got crowned. it's actually the first time here that a song by an idol contestant got airtime while he was still doing the show.

now most of his songs are getting major airtime, namely i don't wanna miss a thing, billie jean and time of my life. guess we all love DC.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. For the first time yesterday afternoon WHTZ (Z100) played TOML and they just played it again a few minutes ago. If they add the song to their playlist, then this is a very good sign because Z100 is of course the largest Top 40 station in the US and usually if they play it, others will follow right behind them. I didn't want to say anything about this until I saw they had played it at least a 2nd time but it appears they have. Hopefully, they will continue playing it and will add it to their playlist.

Don't they get it in bulk to all Z100 stations at pretty much the same time? I might force myself to listen to ours although if I have to hear that idiotic lollipop song too often I might fall on my sword

Actually, Z100 is a station. It's the largest top 40 station in the US. This station is HUGE! If they pick your song up, then it is usually a good sign. I really want to see this song do well, but my biggest hope is to see the actual first single from the album do even better. What is so important is how the public will receive the first single when it is released later this summer. Mediabase and a lot of radio outlets do a lot of testing of singles with the public and if a single tests well with the public on the callouts, then it can bode well for the single whatever it is. If that said single doesn't test well with the public, then chances are, it won't do well. That is what we saw with Blake with both of his singles but more so single #2. Of course he went with Arista and had almost 0 label support. At least at this point , Cookie does seems to have label support.
Now don't get me wrong, this is no way a panic post.

This is sort of how radio works.

On this week's Sirius Hits 1 Weekend Countdown of their top 45 songs, TOML is #39, up from #41 last week! I'm finally beginning to hear it a few times a day on Hits 1.
You can go here to request TOML (they base their Countdown partly on requests!):
