Pre-orders for the new album on Amazon have dropped from $18.99 to $12.99. Anyone know what causes the fluctuations? Just curious...

Not sure about fluctations?? I pre-ordered mine yesterday and I think it was for $18.98. It don't matter to me though. Even if it goes up, I will still buy it! I LOVE THAT GUY!!

As much as I figured, the pre-ordering prices aren't really fixed.

Point in case: I read in the pre-order thread up there that someone pre-ordered a CD at $12.99. When it was finally shipped over, it only cost $7.99.

This pre-order was put up SO early that I am sure Amazon randomly picked the highest price for a single disc cd that is usually charges. I am sure the label updates their info and Amazon adjust accordingly. It's still #2 on the bestsellers list =)

They do "pre-release" orders so that when the CD actually hits the streets, it's place on the charts is already established based on the sales! Another artist I follow did that and his CD hit the charts at #1...

As far as the price changing? The more sold, the cheaper it is to 'press' them!
SO! We have to keep on buying and make this COOKIE #1 !!!

The price always fluctuates because TPTB want to see the reaction and how many people have pre ordered. Once the album is released it will drop to 9.95 dollars or around there. Especially the way his album went straight to No. 2 even at the high price. But you will only be charged on date of delivery.
