David Cook > David Cook Debut Album > "Self Titled" Album Discussion

From new, DC's upcoming album had OLP to work with. Here is the question is David Cook able to gain mass-market accpetance with the song like this. I digg down OLP and would like to offer my favorite track.

There have been a few OLP discussions on here -- especially with DC's announcement that he and Raine will be able to work together on his new disc.

Here's the deal: Anything he does with Raine . . . it will be a partnership, a little bit of Raine's off-the-charts artistry and a little bit of the hard-rocker artist that David is. JMO. But I honestly can't see David just taking in another artists' song and performing it exactly as presented -- without his own input (lyrics, arrangement, music, something). I really believe that the partnership between Raine and David could produce absolute freakin' magic. I get goosebumps thinkin' about it!

But hey, I'm *way biased.* I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE OLP fan, going back probably close to a decade. My devotion to OLP was only reinforced when I saw them live at Irving in 2001, I think it was. Love OLP; Gravity was probably my fave of theirs, although I something about Happiness is not . . . totally tickles me (in a good way). And live? Well, you just can't beat them.

Good ideal. I totally agreed with you. I also big fan of OLP but kinda worried for David. Really hope his upcoming album is working well either business term or artistic term. I believe David is great enough to preduce the music that really suits his style!.

I think it's freeking amazing that he's going to get to work with Raine -- I like OLP myself and whatever DC and Raine do together is going to be hair on the back of your neck raising I'm sure! smile.gif

I am in my 40's, So I would like to take the older prespective, I was not really aware of OLP, I have a friend who kept talking about them but I never got around to seriously listening, Since I have been watching David, I looked up "Innocent" and was impressed and thanks to you guys now I know Gravity, I liked it! I could totally see David
singing in that way, I think he will need to have alot of styles on the first CD. Everything should be considered, But I would be interested in hearing what David and Raine would come up with.
