You didn't say anything objectionable, as far as I'm concerned, but I get Dyann's point about the possibility of replies to the subject which might become that way, so it's good that she deleted it.

You got it. I've had the same feeling, it's a nice one, feel like I've kind of gotten bogged down the past couple of years.

I guess I should throw my 2 cents in since I'm definately a Cougar!
More like a Silver Fox! LMAO
I get so tired of people telling me "You're too old..." blah~blah~blah...
I refuse to become one of those crotchity old ladies who complains about everything and has no fun.
I love David Cook's voice... it makes my hair stand on end... AND he's definately easy on the eyes! LOL!
Hell, he give me goose bumps! *THUD*
I love Rock & Roll, Latin, blues, etc. and I like it LOUD. Most of my friends have gotten "OLD" on me, if you know what I mean. They don't know how to have fun any more.
It's nice to see I'm not alone!

Hi All:
I have to tell you - last week or so I turned to QVC briefly and there was a guest appearance from a well known hair stylist for the stars in California. The term "cougars" came up and he said that term is being used a lot lately; Referring to all of us "Cougars".

No offense taken. Thanks for the clarification and I certainly understand. I've seen some of that other stuff and some of it was way over the top.
So, on to other subjects. First time I heard Cougars was on Housewives of O.C. I happened to catch it one day and this woman in her 40's (I guess) was dating a 21 year old. So I laughed when I saw the sign in the audience for D.C. and that's when I really got it. At 46 I am proud to be named the 'indubitable cougar.'

I think I really first paid attention to the term cougar when Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher hooked up...man, he IS a hottie, too!! LOL
I've actually almost always dated men older than me...one man was 16 years older! (My ex-husband was just 4 years older than me, but had the maturity of an 8 year old! LOL) I dated a guy that was 2 years younger than me, but that's as far as I have gone for the younger men...until now!
So...let me ask you all this:
What is it about David that makes him so appealing to older women?
For me, I guess it's his humility, his sweetness, his maturity level, his voice, his talent, his eyes, his lips, his hair, his face, his body, his hands, his arms, his shoulders, his bum, his cute tum-tum, his smile, his ears, his size 13 feet, his tats, his jewelry he wears, and the way he wears that scarf with his jeans--THUD! It's just an overall 'good guy' with a could-be bad rocker attitude, and an overall sexiness that smolders...
Other than that, I can't think of anything I find attractive about him...LMAO!!

Hi everyone-
Got my People mag today! What great pictures! Interesting what DC said about age...that the age at which you carry yourself is what's important, not the number. Wow. I think I've been carrying myself around looking and feeling a lot older than my 54 years. Thanks to my new inspiration, I'm embarking on the Cookie Diet and Beauty Regimen: just spend all day thinking about David and you will eat less, smile more, and keep a sparkle in your eye! Anyone want to join???

As for the People magazine, my copy has not left my night stand since I got it on Friday--even yesterday, while I was out at the grocery store, I was standing in the checkout line and saw it there. <blushing profusely>
I'm over 50 and kinda obsessed, but I have a son DC's age, so I've been trying to avoid anything with a sexual connotation ...
therefore I haven't called myself a Cougar. Should I sign up anyway?
If so, . . . I notice that 51-Y is available, so I could be 51-Y Yukon Cougar.
i am kind of not 'crazy' about the word "cougar", myself...because of the connotation and because the sexual
attraction is not the main event for me, tho i think david is VERY attractive...but i signed up (and if
he asked me out i would GO!!!!!!!!!

well...that is if i was single)...i am over 50, as well and actually in
a relationship with a younger man for 10 years...who- by the way...loves dc also and his music...
anyway, i don't call myself a cougar- but i guess that is what we are known as here and i suppose it is a compliment..
so..YEAH...sign up!!

I've noticed the same phenomenon. I was on the stairmaster the other night with DC on the iPod and all of a sudden the thing stopped. I looked down at the screen and I was done already! Usually it's torture doing the whole time but I barely noticed. Thanks, Cookie! The solution to boring exercise machine sessions!!!
I don't know if you guys work out at home, but I watch my recordings of DC while I work out, and it gives me that extra...OOOMPH to keep going. The video of him performing with ZZ Top gets my heart rate up, all on its own!

Yeah, many of us have wrestled a little over the term. Although I know it has the connotation of older women trolling for younger men, on this site it just means older women who admire David.
We aren't dead, after all, and he is good looking! lol
But I doubt many of us really have any personal designs on him. I have my own man only five years younger than I am who is good looking, talented, and a musician to boot.
I certainly don't harbor fantasies of a romantic relationship with a man as young as DC. Although I don't see anything wrong per se with older woman/younger man. An age difference of more than 15 years does seem like too much for romance for me, though....But I do think he's the kind of guy I would have been interested in when I was younger, and I am absolutely in love with his voice and his amazing performance talents.

Hi there, yes, I'll reserve #43 for you. Quintessential cougar is already taken, and we've had more than one request for it. What do the rest of you think, should we have repeat words with new numbers????
