Absolutely!!! luv the song when he sang it! fits him perfectly...

ZZ is my fav rock -n- roll band EVER, so I was totally ecstatic when he sang with them. Even already had one of my ZZ shirts on, 'cause I wanted the rocker to win that night.

It totally blew me away. David was fantastic singing with Billy, Dusty and Frank. You could tell he was having a great time.

There would be very few that could sing ZZ and really pull it off, even singing with them, because they are legends and one of a kind.

But David did it. He's one of a kind, too.

Does anyone know if the clip of him with ZZ Top on Idol can be found ANYWHERE??? I would love to have it!!

If you get out of here and go below to The Multimedia, you can download all kinds of audio and video from Idol, also Guitar Hero commercial, etc.

I play mine on WMP and the HQ videos come out beautifully. There's both live and studio (full song) audio versions of the different songs that he sang from Idol.

Okay, got the file downloaded, HOWEVER, it only plays in Windows Media Player as an MP3, not video. Did I download the wrong file or do I need a different player? It won't open in Quicktime at all!! HELP!! I can hear, but I can't see!!!

OK, NO PANICKING. Let's work on this together. If I can do this, I'm sure you can. (It took me several tries, so don't worry.)

First of all, you are under, David Cook >David Cook>The Multimedia > American Idol Audio & Video , correct? It did come from sendspace.com? Did you "save" it to your computer, say under "My Documents", "My Music", etc.? I just did it again and it took close to 10miin. It's a large file. Also, when you play it on WMP, where's it's listed on the right, does it have a blue button next to the song? If so, you should either put your cursor on it or click on it & it will give you more info as to what a problem might be.

The file is under the above (DC>DC> etc.) then under AI High Quality Downloads.

Next, it is an .avi, not a .wmv, so you're Windows Media Player must play these type of videos, otherwise you can't see them. Do you have your preferences set (under Tools) to download Codecs automatically? I do, everyday - and I download extra stuff too - just make sure I read everything real good to make sure I know what I'm getting & that it works with what I've got.

There is also a great website called http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I downloaded the vlc player & I can play a lot of things that I couldn't play before. Some things come up on there, when it does download on vlc, looks like a little orange cone, like in a construction zone, but you can still right click and "open with" and play the file with other players. I know it helped me play some other files I couldn't before, due to the codec.

I have Windows XP. If you have something else, I don't know if that makes any difference or not, surely not Windows at least.

And don't worry about Quicktime, it seems to be a lot more picky about the files it plays, or maybe I just don't play as many on it.

If any of this doesn't help, read through the pages of that topic "AI High Quality Downloads", maybe something else will help, but ignore the stuff about megaupload. It was a crappy outfit they used that a lot of us couldn't get through to get the videos.

If this still doesn't work let me know. BTW, when you look at your file, after you've saved it, it should look like a small picture, probably undistinguishable(?). Be sure that you've saved, then play it. Tried it the other way myself and it didn't work.

So that gives you some ideas to try.

WOW! Thanks for the info. What I had to do tho was download an Xvid program. That seemed to do the trick!! It's working fine and I think I've watched it about 20 times now. GREAT VIDEO!! Thanks again for ALL of your help!!!!!

You have ZZ Top and David Cook, you can't go wrong! Especially ZZ, but I've been a fan of them a heckuva lot longer.

I'm soooooo glad to hear that you got it to work. Don't forget that if you want, there are a lot more videos you can download. You can always delete them later if you really don't like 'em. That's what I did, but then I decided I loved them all. My taste in music as always been versatile, but ZZ has always been #1!
