Those Archie fans are voting their little hearts out! I was refreshing the results page and Archie's numbers are rising constantly. David's are the only other numbers moving, but if we want David ON TOP (like I know we all do!) we need to get more voters!

I too am not overly concerned with this poll, but I don't like to see Cookie losing in polls so I voted. And I will vote again when I get home later on my lap top. DC is now tied (percentage-wise) with Daughtry at 14%. Anybody else wondering how Archie has increased by over 10,000 votes in just half a day? We can do better than that I think....

You guys are terrific. I am so proud of you. I mentioned that I had posted the poll in David-Cook.org and on the AI forums site and look how we have risen today. I saw this on the Ricki blog and the Archys are really taking this seriously as though it really matters. I still like to keep Cookie out there with the others. Please keep up the good work guys.

I voted about 15 times (at least) before they started telling me my vote didn't count. I don't think 7,000 Archie fans showed up out of the blue to cast a single vote. Where were you when Cookie was throttling him on the charts? Heck, I bet Katharine McPhee wishes that many people would have bought her album!

Like I said this morning, the fact that Carrie and Kelly are so far behind speaks for that poll's legitimacy. Besides, I have a feeling the majority of Cookie's fans are too busy earning a paycheck to spend a lot of time on this kind of stuff. The same goes with stuff like MySpace views, etc. There are tons and tons of Cookie fans who would never dream of friending him on MySpace, but they probably own a significant amount of his catalog. We showed our strength when we helped Cookie bust those Billboard records.

Oh, and to defend myself, I spammed the poll this morning while eating a granola bar, then I put in a full day at work. And truthfully, I felt a little dirty doing it.

ETA: Oh, I'm sure Archie has adult fans too, but I doubt they're spamming the poll.

Man, those Archies are going all out for this one. Feasibly, if there were several computers in the house I figure one 13-year-old girl could bend the rules here, though. I don't think this one's worth fighting, though. Archie can have this one. Cookie can have his BillBoard records and his nice shiny gold RIAA plaque.

My take on this poll at 7 30 AM this morning is that spamming polls (any legitimate music site would not put something like that up because they know something ridiculous like this can happen) and putting comments about Cook's sexuality on YouTube is a pretty lame tactic. If this is the only victory they have to seize, I don't think there will be much trouble for Cook in the long run.

Still, I'm going to stay away from these things from now on.

At this moment there are only about 59,000 total votes for 12 "candidates" on that poll. In other words, not many people are paying attention to it. It's not significant. It's not gonna make or break anyone's career.

Nevertheless, I voted for Cookie, coz I've still never quite recovered from those marathon AI voting sessions. Whenever someone says "Vote for David Cook," my fingers automatically respond.

Well it seems pretty hopeless to try to get David to #1 with the amount of Archie voters o_O And I agree with the above post, it's not really gonna make a difference..
