Hi everyone. Just saw the performance of TOML on the Tonight Show. David did a great job. He made some subtle changes to the song. Sounded and looked awesome! Jay Leno mentioned that there is another performance on the Tonight Show website for anyone who is interested. I did check already, but it was not up yet. I will try again tomorrow! I hope you all got to see it!

I got my DC fix!!! Didn't he seem so relaxed? He seemed to be having a great time!

It was really fun to watch....he wasn't hoarse, and he didn't look nervous at all! Great to see!!!

God I forgot how much I want to be his microphone/stand. He was absolutely amazing and looked oh so yummy. I miss seeing him every week.....i guess this will have to hold be over until the concert in July. *sigh*

That was incredible...yowza!!! Back in rocker mode, relaxed, happy, and in mighty fine form. I loved how up close it was filmed too...and um, I TRY to stay focused on the music, but....that man has a mighty fine *ss!!! There, I said it, I can't help it!!

Excellent performance, in deed. It was cool that he got to perform on the outside stage where he was able to perform for a crowd as opposed to standing in one spot and performing only to the cameras. David's much more in his element when he can move around and play to an audience. He was in good voice and appeared very relaxed tonight. I can't wait to see the other performance online.

Oh...almost forgot the most important thing...he was FINE in that outfit. Loved the vest!

Ok can I rant a bit???? I just watched the 2nd performance on NBC.com. Ok I am a bit MIFFED!! Ya know if I was in LA. I wouldve been there in a heartbeat. What kinda a CRAP CROWD was that?!?!?! David is kicking ASS on guitar and they're standing there like that? I woulda been losing my mind!! Holy Crap..ya know if I have to, Ill freakin FLY OUT next time, bring signs and bring friends and we'll TEAR UP that front row, Dammit!!! Who just stands there motionless when David Cook is rocking it?!?!?! Can someone pls tell me?? WTF?!!!!!!!!!! He's gotta get them clappin?? are you kidding me?!!! Sorry but that just urked me. I would give ANYTHING to get David Cook anywhere within 500 miles of me!!!!!!!

Yeah I completely agree. They were all just standing there like statues. I would kill to be that close to him! There was one girl in the front who was singing along, I think that's the one he winked to and smiled at (again, would have KILLED for that!). Not many Word Nerds there, but I'm sure they were converted - he sounded amazing on both songs!

I don't think I ever stopped smiling during his performance.

The amt of ppl was ok, it just seemed everyone was catatonic. I dont know how you can watch that man perform and not have your doorknobs blown off. Mine were blown off and I watched from my TV 2000 miles away.

blown away too. hey alot of the audience looked like middle aged men, lots of gray and balding, and then some blondes in the front. where did they get these people? they were obviously not fans. they did not give him the love he deserves. he'll get lots of love on tour, tho...

So were mine!! He was just amazing -- he owned the stage on both songs, and had a blast rocking out to Hero --- That is officially in my top 3 favorite David Performances -- I just cant get over it.

He looked amazing - relaxed, rested, and having a great time.

Oh and I think I would have been dead had I been that close to him --- just from that smile!

I actually disagree. If you look at the crowd during "Hero," You can see a lot of the dudes in the crowd bobbing their heads. Guys aren't going to go crazy and scream like 13 year old girls, and with as much emphasis as is put on how the ladies love DC, I think it really shows that the guys are digging him too. I doubt that those guys expected to be into David Cook, then they heard him start rockin' the Foo, and they had to head bob. I think the head bob is like guy kudos.

I mentioned this to my daughter...hey if he can get the guys to head bob he's rocking it. On the comment about the audience, the Tonight Show is always kinda like that...we just need to get more organized and start showing up. Don't you think?

So why didn''t you go? Was his performance not advertised...did they only let certain people in...I know DC has many working fans, maybe it was a bad day for them to show up...I guess I don't get it. However, I have always noticed that the audiences for the late night shows are kinda lame. He was hot. Very hot.

Oh I am so bummed! I set my alarm so I could get up to watch and I couldn't keep my eyes open waiting for David. I'll have to look for it later after work and watch the vids. Not the same as watching him on tv but it'll have to do.

I waited here in LA to watch it "first run" on my tv/home theater (I wanted best speakers possible, not my computer!). I thought TOML was one of his best performances ever. That is, until I saw My Hero on line. That blew me away. That's the kind of song that MUST make up more than half his CD. Nigel can certainly not complain after tonight. DC really put the charisma on overload and worked the crowd! Any more and he'd ignite a nuclear fussion! And didn't he look rather beefy? His workout program is good... and not overkill.. he looks great.

On the NBC website several guys commented how much they loved the performance of TOML. He's gonna get those all-important young guys on board with his new CD. He's going to have the women AND the men, which will really make him one of the most popular rockers in recent memory (Coldplay gets the women as well as the men, and they're pretty much #1 right now). Springsteen always got the women, and look how big he's always been. So if anyone feared DC will only attract the women, fear not. He will be across the board and huge.

He was smoking hot! He looked amazing. Perfect outfit. Hot, hot, hot. He looked well-rested, relaxed, was having fun and looked happy. He sounded great.

Love, love, LOVED it! That's just a preview of what we'll get when we see him tour on his own. Can't wait!

I just watched both of his Tonight Show performances and loved them. David looked great, sounded fantastic, and seemed so so comfortable.

If I'd been in that crowd, I'd be going nuts. I don't know how anyone could stand still. He is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just watched the clip from youtube and all I have to say is he really did a fantastic job. I loved his little changes on his Time of My Life performance. Nice outfit. The arms, well, wow!

Loved his performances...can't wait to see him in concert!

As far as the crowd goes, think that's pretty standard. I went to a taping of the Killers on Jimmy Kimmel once and aside from a group of fans in the front (and me in the back ) everyone else was pretty subdued. And then they only allow so many people in, so your'e not gonna have a huge crowd. I was very happy to see the amount of men in the audience, proving that he doesn't just appeal to women.

And so now I'm sitting here thinking, what the hell was I doing at home last night when I could have been watching David live?? How lame am I??

Not really! He was brilliant and I Loved It! Simon quotes. Ha! Loved the way he rocked both songs and even if the audience wasn't as animated as it would have been if they would have had "real" DC fans there it is the viewing audience who will love it and buy everything he breathes on. And that would be Me!!!
Awesome performances.

I checked it out this morning and was glad to see him relaxed and having a good time. I saw the second performance and it of course was great. What I really liked was that the second song was more of how I think his album is going to be, it was a cover of the FOO Fighters. I think it is smart of him to slowly show people that he is not all about the "magic rainbow" that he does have an edge and that is what we love. There is also an interview on the nbc sight. It will give you a good fix of David to start the weekend. It was also very cute that Abigail Breslin was so excited that he was there.

The scruffies were back too! He looked and sounded fabulous, I spent the whole performance with a huge grin on my face, so much so that I didn't even notice the crowd! I've been to concerts where I've wondered why some of the people even bothered coming they were so comatose. I guess some people just don't like to rock out with the band, but I know I do. I'd have been unglued during that performance, he just moves me completely! He did seem rested, like so many others have said. He looked happy and comfortable and in his element.

I loved the band too, that's what David needs is a rocking band behind him, bandmates that he can play off of, talented musicians who can showcase David as the frontman, but who also have their own stage personna like Edge.

Loved the winking, waving and grinning. With showmanship like that, David is sure to gather a following away from the AI viewers. He's a true performer.

David was totally HOT last night and he was all over that microphone stand. God, I have never wanted to be microphone stand so much in my life!

And of course he sounded awesome!

i was sooo tired that night...so at like 11:20 i had ice cream and soda so i could stay up!! lol i stayed up until 12:40 jsut so i could see him perform i was txting my friend and she is like, "i have never seen u so devoted to anything before!" lol she thinks my dedication is hilarious!! but omg that was awesome! his voice sounds tired but he pulled through i really liked it!!! he seemed more relaxed but omg HE LOOKED SOOO HOT!! MY LORD i yelled so loud from happiness.,..finally showed off those arms...and the way he held that mic *dirty thoughts* can i please be it?? for like one mintute?

I was thinking the same thing! Why weren't they into it more? I love that song and he ROCKED it! BTW, did ya'll notice that on the Leno site the title on the clip says it's a "Fo" Fighters song instead of Foo.........just thought that was kinda funny.
