That song is so not my type of music but god,DC singing it gives me chills every time I hear it..I am like so in awe of this man, anyone else get this feeling from that song?

Uh, yeah. YES!

I can't even explain how hearing him sing this song makes me feel. I've been a fan of the song for years after hearing it in various places. I've never seen "Phantom of the Opera." But now I've put it on my Netflix list because I need to see what it is I'm feeling here, listening to DC sing it. I wonder how it would look if I turned the TV down and turned DC up when the song is on? Hmmm... tongue.gif

My BFF is a HUGE PotO fan, and a "casual" DC fan (mostly through me) but she listened to it in my car the other day and I thought she was going to have a coronary. She paused at the end, trying to catch her breath and said "Well, that was ... sensual."

My thoughts exactly!

That has always been one of my favorites ! My Lord could imagine what other songs like this one he could nail! I think about that I mean I know he is a rocker but damn he can sure get my blood pumping when he does love songs. Well he gets my blood pumping period rolleyes.gif

MOTN showed us he can sing anything, he's so amazingly versatile. He's taken songs I wasn't particularly attached to in their original versions and made me love them. He's taken other people's adaptations of songs and made them even better!

Ballads and Broadway are not my thing, but when David sang "Music Of The Night," I was completely entranced. Every time I hear him sing it now, I just want to drop everything and let his voice carry me away.

I've been a Phantom fan for quite a while, and wasn't sure how I would like those songs being done on Idol. I must say, with Cookie I was very pleasantly surprised! I loved everything he did, but when he nailed MOTN, that sealed the deal for me!!!

I could see him playing the Phantom...except that face is just too gorgeous to cover with a mask!!! cool.gif

It's very haunting how beautifully he sings this song. It was my second favorite next Billie Jean.... I really love his arrangement of Michael Jackson's classic song

I have never seen Phantom of the Opera, nor have I heard any of the music from it, that I know of. I was blown away when I heard and saw him this. I add the "and saw" because the way he carried himself on the stage was just perfect. I didn't know he had had theater training until I saw him do this and then I knew he must have.

I think this is the song that gets my blood pumping the most. It is hauntingly beautiful. His low notes make me melt. They're perfect. And his eyes. The feeling he puts into this song. And he sounds so good!

I'v always loved the song.....now since David sang it, I can't get enough!

His voice is incredibly beautiful, full of feeling and passion!!!
He nails every note and hits every vocal nuance. His tone is so
pure. He truly makes you believe in what he's saying.

Didn't he say in the People mag article that his is incredibly romantic?
GAWD, he certainly proves it when he sings this song!!

I am in love with his performance!! tongue.gif

I actually had a laugh with someone over that performance because she was arguing that David didn't interpret the song appropriately...then I showed her who was coaching him. Oops. wink.gif

I always thought it was a great song, and I have both the studio & the live version. When he hits that high note, & then it cuts out & seems to echo. I get goosebumps. The studio version shows just how clear his voice can be and how he can articulate each word. I'd like to articulate him

That type of music is so not me so when he did it on AI I just thought yeah okay. BUT last week I finally got the song on my mp3 player and after I listened to it the first time I just kept replaying it! I couldn't wait for my daughter to get home from work to listen and she loved it too. It is just beyond words what he put into that song. It just speaks to your soul! If you remember when he was asked which song was his favorite to perform he said this one....

This was his first truly stand up and take notice performance. I couldn't stop replaying it on Tivo, was transfixed. And ultimately, smitten.
