David Cook > The Other Stuff > Off Topic Discussion

i know there has to be a bunch of JG fans on here - i've been following josh since the very beginning, in 2001, and have seen him in concert something like 13 times, and even got to meet him at the Greek Theater in los angeles, during the taping of "live at the greek" - there are only 3 performers who touch my soul, who speak to my heart, and that's josh, taylor hicks, and david cook....absolutely amazing singers/performers....

just looking to connect with other josh fans, and to have a thread to appreciate that unbelievable, sexy baritone!!

I was at the Greek Theatre for both concerts plus the extra taping time the 3rd night. My daughter and I do love us some Josh Groban and we go to everything he does in So. California. Such a talented young man. I hope that David is able to sell CDs like Josh has. He has done so very well for himself in his genre.

Josh fan checking in her as well. Although at the moment, Im cheating on him with David, but that's besides the point wink.gif Josh is fabulous - love him. I've been so enamored with David that I almost forgot about how much I love Josh - Awake Live came up on my ipod a week or so and it brought me to tears -- reminded me why I fell in love in the first place. smile.gif

Hi Jen! smile.gif
CanadianCookie
I've been a JG fan since he first came onto the music scene. I have all his albums and DVD's. He is such a cutie!
@alexandbethmom: You are so lucky to have met him. I bet he is so friendly in person.
He is so talented and has a voice that soothes and gives you shivers at the same time.

I actually had my father/daughter dance at my wedding to You Raise Me Up. It fit the whole mood.
I hope to see him concert someday! I bet he puts on one heck of a show!

JG is quite a wonderful performer! I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him live in concert in person but have seen him perform live on TV and on DVD. He is very handsome and seems to be a really nice guy!

Hi Jen! smile.gif

Nah...there is no such thing as "cheating" on anyone in this case. Great music is great music and that's that. If I had to narrow my musical enjoyment to just one performer, I would be sad, indeed. I enjoy the efforts of quite a few musicians, both well known and totally indie. I wouldn't think I was cheating on one because I also listen to the other. Josh and David are both amazing in what they do.

LOVE Josh Groban as well! I took my 70-year-old mother to see him in Omaha and she said it was one of the best times of her life.

By the way, I absolutely LOVE your South Park Cookie! What a hoot!
NorCalKayla
Jen!!!

You must have known I would post in this thread. wink.gif

I absolutely adore Josh, and have for years. He is such an incredibly talented person, and he has such a good heart too (hmm, kind of like someone else we know...hee hee hee.)

Every time he releases new material, I swear that I'm not going to find a song that I love more than X...but I think that's REALLY going to be true now, because I can't imagine loving something more than "Awake". That song just touches me to my very core! wub.gif

I even have JG in my license plate!

Nice to see fellow Grobbies here! You know, when I first saw people THUDding on these forums, I was like HEY! Because it's a very Grobbie thing to do. That and the MROOF. *grins*

I know - its so powerful and I just love him and the piano alone -- even though hes performing for thousands of people, when it's just him and the piano, its such a personal moment. And Awake quickly jumped into my top 5 groban songs when I heard it. smile.gif

Very, very true! I think Grobies started the whole THUDding thing but hey, we can share. smile.gif

Oh and btw, I go by PrincessLeia04 on the jg.com forums. smile.gif Not that I'm over there much anymore (I spend almost all my time here now)

I absolutely love when Josh is at the piano. He just pours everything he has into the song, both musically and vocally. That's why I love "Remember When It Rained" so much too, besides the fact that the staging for that on the Closer tour was spectacular.

I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again. I would give *anything* to hear David cover "Awake"!

hey, AWESOME!!! thank you!!! did you go see my siggy over there or something? i would absolutely LOOOOOVE to have somebody "amend" my siggy to incorporate DC into it - but i don't know what else to add besides "heart and soul" - but yes, they are my heart and soul boys!!

and yes, "awake" makes me absolutely go fetal - it reminds me so much of my husband, it makes me crazy....
Lirix
I'm not sure whether to squee that so many people feel the same way about these two completely different singers, or if I should be jealous because I still haven't seen Josh Groban live...

Wouldn't a duet between the two of them be absolutely fantastic? I think that they'd have to put a warning on the label along the lines of: Warning: Fangirlisms may ensue post audio...

Oh, and David covering Awake... excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin.

When I first got his Awake album I wasn't that fond of it, it was more "poppy" than his previous works, but so many of the songs are on the top of my favorite song list. There are very few singers who can bring me to tears, and this board is focusing on two of them!

On a more random note, I shouldn't post things when I've only had a few hours sleep and am at work, it's highly dangerous...

I think if that happened, I would be a dead woman walking.

Even if they just collaborated and wrote together --- that would be flipping amazing too. Although a duet between them would be seriously thud-inducing as well!

NorCalKayla
I would absolutely LOVE to see Josh and David collaborate on a song. It'd be SO much fun to see Josh truly rockin' out! smile.gif

I have to catch him in concert one of these days. Love his music.

I loved Josh's performance on Idol Gives Back last year! It was beautiful!

Always enjoyed JG now and again, but I watched the Awake Live concert on TV last night and just went WOW! I'm now a fan. But I admit I was also thinking even as I really enjoyed it, that DC could have sung many of those songs--he has the range, the vocal quality and the lung power--hee! It would be fun to hear him take on some of those and put his personal brand on them.

BUT--JG was still fantastic! Loved his African materials, loved his interaction with the audience, loved his simplicity overall. Such a mensch!

OMG, I LOVE Josh Groban!!! I first heard him on Oprah several years back and instantly fell in love. Seriously, his voice makes me melt like butter on a hot summer day...okay, that was really cheesy and stupid! Haha! My family, however, are completely close-minded on just about every subject and Josh's music is one of them. I don't care, though...if they complain, I play it louder!
NorCalKayla
Did you see Josh perform "God Bless America" at the All-Star Game on Tuesday? He was *so* fantastic. I never get tired of listening to his voice! wub.gif
punkydo_luvs_david
i think it is amazing how we all love the amazing classy music of josh's to the rockin' style and sexy grunge of david cook! i applaude you people because it is true JB fans love their music no matter what type!
NorCalKayla
Sarah!!

I listened to some of Josh's appearance on Loveline - it was great. But I got sad because the first song they played was...live "Awake". *sigh*
