Just had to do a little celebrating there. I just bought a ticket for Section 104, Row 5 for the Saturday night KC show. I had been on the fence for a little while b/w seeing the show in Atlanta vs. Kansas City or Tulsa but went ahead and decided on the 2nd KC show.
I love seeing concerts where the person I love (DC, of course) has a personal connection. I am so stoked to see David in his hometown and will be flying up from Atlanta! Can't wait to see all the other DC fans there and meet everyone.

Yeah, when the shows gets closer we should all talk about doing a tailgate party before the show like I've seen mentioned for some of the other concerts. That would be fun! I won't be much help with logistics as far as where to meet since the last time I was in KC was 10 years ago, but it would be cool to meet everyone and do a group photo (we could send to David!). But I can help donate the "tailgate" of my rental car and help with food, drinks, etc.

I live in Wichita and will be going to the Aug 30th show. I'm stoked about this being his hometown show. A little more special maybe. Like I've said in other posts maybe he'll be more out and about more meeting people since this is home to him. Maybe we all could get together and do something special for them on a more personal note and maybe have more of a chance to meet them. What do u guys think?

You'll have to let me know how the first show goes and if you get to meet any of the idols?

Ok so I broke down and bought tickets for the 30th show... My entire mother's side of the family lives in KC. We are going up there the Thursday before. I am hoping to go hang out on the 29th before the show(I couldn't afford tickets for both considering I am going to the STL too)... and deffinately on the 30th I will be there early... If anyone is setting something up.... let me know... I will be sure to be around somewhere.....

Ok, I just broke down too. I feel a little crazy, since I will be going by myself and no absolutely no-one there. I am hoping to meet up with a few folks from here. They still have plenty of tickets to the show too. Hope to see y'all there! I already had tickets to the GA concert, since I live there. I think my KC tickets are better than my GA ones too. I think the KC show will be very exciting, and I bet David really goes above and beyond to make it special for his hometown.

Fun! You should come hang out with us before the Chicago show (check out the Allstate Arena thread)!
I was thinking about flying out for the KC shows (the Tulsa show is also a possibility). It just depends on how the Chicago show goes (like if I get to give DC the tribute album we're putting together for him).
Maybe I'll end up seeing you all there!

Sesot, that's awesome another Georgian is coming up to see the KC show!! I bought a single ticket too - I think my hubby is going to be with me in KC but won't be coming to the show. We'll all have to get together. It will be fun to see where everyone is from.

You guys got me motivated to get tickets for the KC show too. Saturday night show. They opened another section, adjacent to the stage, so I bought the ones directly at the level of the stage. You can fly to KC for about $150, so I thought I would take my niece.
If I end up not going I'll just post my ticket s on this site, and sell them at cost.
But I think KC will be a blast!! Renaissance Hotel near concert venue has rooms, so I made the reservations for two nights, so I can scope out what all happens on the first night.
But you August 29 concert goers tell us how it all panned out, so we are prepared for next night.

I'm going to the K.C. show on the 30th also. We all really should meet up somewhere. That would be a blast. Wish we knew where the idols were hanging out since they'll be their for 2 nights.

Going to BOTH KC shows (as I live here) as well as St. Louis and Tulsa. (Couldn't wait until the end of August, which is how I ended up with a St. Louis ticket and Tulsa is the END OF THE TOUR for Gawd's sake. Could be really special, ya know?) Would love to hook up with some KC people heading to St. Louis.
Hope to see y'all there. The Sprint Center is downtown and parking is really fairly easy (at least is was for Garth Brooks last November). The Power & Light District is definitely worth exploring if you get there early.

I say we meet at Chefburger but that's just me. hahaha. Because then you don't necessarily have to be there at the same time since it's semi fast food, but it's really good pricey though. Oh it'll be sort of hard finding parking since now there is a lot more going on down there then what there was during Garth Brooks. Plus if you get out there early, they change parking prices on some of those lots after 4, especialyl on event nights and you could wind up finding a ticket on your car.
Anyhow if anyone wants to meet up before both shows I'm willing. Although I probably can't be there too early as I'm carpooling with my sister who works at the Sprint Center. Should be two fun nights, although I only have a ticket for the first night, kind of waiting on seeing if I want to pay that much for another night. Or we could go to the brewery place that's over in the Power and Light I've yet to eat there. Would say McFadden's but it's too small and it's always packed before concerts.

I'd be interested in hooking up. I am going up either the 28th or the 29th for the 30th concert. Staying at the Renaissance downtown.
Don't have anything planned, but would love to meet up with people
