Hey.
So instead of making a thread for each drawing i make, i'll just post them here whenever i draw a new one. I know i already made one for my first drawing, but that can die now, lol.
The scanner did kill the first one a bit, and made it a bit too bright, so in the second one i made it gray scale on photoshop so it doesn't look so yellowish from the bright light of the scanner.
Bear in mind i'm only 13, lol.

So, here's my first one:

And here's one i just did. It's dedicated to my dear friend Sweet Mercy smile.gif

I know they're not too great. The second one was harder sorta cuz the eyes are hard to draw in a front shot.
Comments and criticism are always welcome tongue.gif

Oh, LITTLE SISTER!!!!!!!

Thank you so much! You've taught me to appreciate what is important in life and in writing about it. I love the drawing! You are a gem, too, sis. I am so happy we have become friends.

pirate skittles!
WOW! O_O

You have some skills, girl! laugh.gif

I wish I could draw. x_x
Unfortunately, even being as right-brained as I am, I can't draw anything that would be closely resembling decent. x_x

Haii.. I'm jealous of artists, and people who could draw like you. laugh.gif

They're really awesome! =D

That's great! Keep it up! I am an artist too, so I can appreciate the difficulty! With David as our muse, we could draw him for days on end...

Except me, I suck at drawing people... i can draw anything else, just not people. They don't look bad, they just never look like who i intended. There's something about being able to truly capture a person's face.

Those are both really good!! He is a great subject to draw, isn't he? Keep them coming!!

It's so funny that you drew those pictures because I've already printed them out and I'm going to be drawing them soon. I guess great minds think alike!! tongue.gif

I know I've only been drawing for a year, but I would like to share some things I've learned.

When drawing hair, draw it in the direction it grows instead of up and down movement (does that make sense?). Try drawing eyelashes too, just don't over do it like I did on my first drawing! biggrin.gif

You can try shading a little more if it calls for it, I use cotton swabs and sometimes a blending stump.

As with facial hair, with eyebrows you should draw the hair going in different directions criss-crossing some of them. With his beard and mustache you can try to do short but swift movements, that way it doesn't end bluntly.

I really do like your drawings, I just wanted to share some tips that I unfortunately had to figure out on my own. You can forget anything I said above if you want to, well except the part where I said your drawings are really good! biggrin.gif

If anything didn't make sense, just ask and I will try to explain it better!

Your fellow artist,
Jessica smile.gif

Thanks DCspellbound biggrin.gif!

Wow, thanks so much for all of that, i will definitely keep that in mind smile.gif

I tried eyelashes first, but it turned out kind of weird since it made him look too feminine, lol! So i just forgot about them. I will try them again next time though biggrin.gif

And yeah i understand what you mean about the hair xD

Actually, the shading shows more on the paper, since the scanner kills it a bit with its bright light, so the lighter shading disappears and the darker ones become lighter. If that makes sence xD I'll try to do it all darker though, so it shows.

Thanks a lot, i appreciate it happy.gif

I know how it is when the scanner kills the shading. I try to darken mine to look more like the original in gimp, which is like photoshop.

I've had the problem with the eyelashes before too.

I hope I didn't offend you, I was just trying to give some advice. I'm pretty new to drawing and I'm self taught, I just wanted to help with things because I never had anybody to really give me tips.

Hugs,
Jessica biggrin.gif

I can't wait to see more!

And if you are interested I posted a new drawing in my thread. biggrin.gif
Noura
You didn't offend me at all, i take everything anyone tells me in, i know you're just trying to help and i appreciate it greatly happy.gif

I know! I commented on yours biggrin.gif

I'll be sure to post some more soon. I might this weekend, might not. Depends if i have time to draw between studying.

Hugs,

After poofing for such a long time, here are the drawings i made during that time xDD They're not David ones though ohmy.gif

It's Ryan Ross from P!ATD. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they're good. And i liked this pic, cuz the make up was awesome, rofl. Okay anyway, it turned out quite well. The shading was good, and i think this is the best hair i've drawn so far, lol. I hate the mouth though, cuz it makes him look monkey-ish. But overall i think i did a good job (: The one on the right i did the posterization effect on photoshop on, made it look cool ;D

A drawing of the awesome Julia Nunes, yay xD! The one at the top is just how it is and the one as the bottom is the result of me playing around with photoshop xD The scanner killed a lot of the soft shading (like on the guitar and face) though sad.gif

Jessica17
Those are really good! Keep up the great work! biggrin.gif I know what you mean about the scanner killing the soft shading.
Noura
Thank you biggrin.gif
Will do, lol.

Ugh, school in a few days x_x
