I'm confused. can anyone tell me when David did this? I think it was during top 12 week when he sang Eleanor Rigby but when Simon made that comment, David just kind of nodded. I've seen videos of the performance and i never saw this scene.

can someone please clarify for me? did he do this during the song? during the judge's comments? cause i really loved that moment when he did that fist pump thing.

Well, that's definitely what he was wearing for Elanor Rigby, but I can't find it to confirm, it feels like it was right after the performance because he was jumping around a lot, but I can't find it in a video. I remember seeing it, just not the details. He does the same-ish thing after Billy Jean right after Simon's comment.

hmmm could it be from billy jean then? but he wasn't wearing that jacket in billy jean. could it be after singing the song eleanor rigby? he was pretty bouncy that night so cute.

Yes, it was after the Eleanor Rigby performance but we didn't get to see that part on the show. I think AI takes different camera shots but not all of them are used for the show.

Random realization: I think they may have filmed it and aired it during one of the journey videos.

I'm pretty sure that when the cut away right after he performs I can see him doing the fist pump and hop thing it's just so small and low quality I can't really tell then it cuts away to the audience {probably right during the turn thing}...

yup this is correct.

he does it right when he finishes eleanor rigby... in the original aired performance the camera cuts away and then comes back when he jumps up and down and goes "woo hoo"

it wasn't actually his reaction to simon's comment. he reacted to simon by bowing his head and saying thank you holding back a huge smile

the journey footage was spliced so that it looked like it was his reaction... but it was really just a release after singing billie jean on the new stage.

i've look and i haven't been able to find it, the only time i could come close was with before the performance of 'happy together' when they have that video...other than that i have found nothing, the only thing i could find was david archuleta singing that song...which made me sad because i absolutely love david cooks voice singing i'll be, i actually didn't know what the song was called until i had to go dig up the video on youtube to show to my friend who knows a lot more songs than i do but we have very similar taste that if i don't know a song she is bound to, and she didn't know what i was talking about when i was trying to tell her when the song was sang so when she saw the video she told me it's i'll be...david should put that song on his album!!

I found it.. it´s in the Homecoming episode where there´s a recap of David´s former performances in the end.

That video (Homecoming) is one of my favourites.. I think I´ll never get tired watching it.

They only aired that teeny little bit during the Top 24 performances, they were not able to get clearance to use it fully (seems odd, because I remember Bo singing that on S4, among others).

You know, I think Edwin McCain got really tired of hearing his song on there and put a halt to it. I think just about EVERYBODY tried it up until this year. I remember an intervew with McCain where he said he was tired of hearing it butchered or something. He needn't have worried about butchering with our Cookie singing it, though.
