I have really enjoyed taking this ride with david Cook. When he won I felt we all won. His Music and his brilliance will shine on and grow and fill us with pleasure for years to come.
I found and stayed on this fansite because it gives me the best information on where I can see and hear David. You guys get the inside scope and always have great pictures and given David soo much.
David Cook Fandom has given me a great distraction from everyday life. He is everything we say he is.
Lately, however, things have gotten to heavy. Seems all I read are things like, he is Too Fat, Too Thin, Sang well, Didn't sing well, Looks Tired, looks great, Was he drunk, was he just excited? Why did he wear that .. The list goes on and on. Why did he do this or that? He has been held up to a mircoscope on everything. The Archie fans are still all over bitterly, blasting him.
The media will have a field day doing all this to him for the rest of his life. If he is dating ( whomever) and having some fun, great! Let's not make more out of it then, apparently he is.
Can't we just enjoy the fruits of our labors and enjoy David for who he is. Beautiful, brilliant, gifted, funny and yes, some warts and all?
He didn't compromise himself for Simon or Idol. We had faith in him then. Let's have faith in him know.

Oh wow. I haven't read anything like that and glad I haven't. David Cook is only human and I love him exactly the way he and I don't think there is anything wrong with him and if people are criticizing him like a painting that is gross and they are just jealous of how talented he is.

This is why we need unconditional fans like you. Don't leave. I was ready to go after the NA criticism, and I was dissapointed with all the stuff about the audience on Jay Leno but I realize that not everyone has the same personality, and I realize that different fans, are different. Enjoy your admiration for him. I realize that sometimes, the stuff posted from fans can be more inflammatory than the stuff people that are skeptical about DC have even began to fathom, but it happens to all that are up on the road to fame. I really feel for Archie, he is beginning to be the brunt of jokes, which is worse. As far as a fan war. It is over. DC won, and I am sure that Archie fans feel very bitter, it was in the bag for them. I would be upset too. It will all settle down. It comes with the territory. If it is meant for him(DC) to flourish and do well he will, and he may loose some of the fans that are infatuated with the idol, and not the artist, but he will also gain people that will be fans of the artist for a long time. That is why his family, friends, and significant others should be what is important to him. Sorry for the long post. I just love DC too.

Lovely words and very well said. I do feel for Archie too because he is a good artist and I plan on purchasing his album if he has one. And when it comes down the Cook, I guess that a lot of people are judging him on things *I have yet to read* but I don't think its fair that he is judged. Like I posted somewhere else he is only human and I am so proud of all he is doing, I would have crashed by now. He is truely amazing and I will be a word nerd for many years to come.

I think this board is a lot of fun and I haven't heard that much negative stuff. Yeah, we were worried about the NA, but I think most people were worried about what the press would say, and the same goes for the crowds with the Leno thing. I know for myself I had no experience with how that goes but if it weren't for this board I wouldn't have been reassured that it's normal.

Oh, and the press seems to love him right now. I don't think they are going to spend the rest of his life criticizing him. David Cook is a PR guy's wet dream. He's cute, funny, humble, and up for anything.

As far as the Archies go: well, nothing we can do about that. I get as crazy as anybody else but I think we can take them as far as pure insanity goes.

I think you should stay for the very reasons you have cited for leaving. True DC fans know that David is worthy of the praises and pay no attention to the negative threads being spun by flaming trolls. Who cares what the world thinks of DC as long as people like you and me are supporting his career. I love the Tennessee Vols more than almost anything and there are times when I'm over on the message boards devoted to them that I want to scream and cancel my subscriptions because of the so called "fans" who NEVER are satisfied and I start to wonder if they have ever had a moment's pleasure in life...I haven't seen anything close to what I've seen in terms of negativity on here as I have on those boards. But there's a sweet satisfaction to pointing out how ridiculous they are.

So stick around...ignore the downers....rock on.

I still think we don't need to pick David or anyone else apart bit by bit. We are here for support and friendship. Please stick around! The majority of us are harmless!!!

I've read mostly positive stuff about David here. I think some of us might notice things like his demeanor during the national anthem performance because we all do care about him and don't want him to get totally burned out or hurt himself.

I'm done with what the more vicious ArchAngels have to say. They cannot turn the clock back and make Archie the idol. What they really ought to do, as so many of their compatriots have, is support Archie unconditionally the way we do Cookie. True fans don't go tearing down someone they don't like; they actively support someone they do like, and they have the decency to respect others in the business. As far as I'm concerned, the ArchAngels who are taking potshots at Cookie are also taking potshots at Archie.

As far as the big picture goes, I've seen mostly good things written about Cookie. Sure, he has his detractors, but who doesn't? Don't let the negativity bring you down. Push out the jive, bring in the love!

Granted, family life isn't always peachy keen and without dysfunction - people have different opinions but I think this is a really positive place for supporting DC in all his endeavors. I agree that there was way too much drama that was unnecessarily created over the NA for about 24 hours, but some of that arose from concern for his general welfare. Just ignore what the Archie die-hards say. They are all bark, no bite.

But, still, it doesn't mean you should back out & not support him you know?
Like you said, I've read where people have said that they wouldn't support him if he was dating so & so, & that's just plain out ridiculous. They obviously liked something about him when they voted, so why stop now?

I have to say this though...It's only going to get harder for him folks. That's how the industry is...and it's fueled by us, the fans and the media. They let the fans put them on this pedistal (yes, that's exactly what we're doing) and the media throw stones to see how fast they can knock them off. Once they do, it's a feeding frenzy to see who can 'put it in print' first.

The stars love when their fans are supportive of them, and it makes it easier for them to get through the day knowing someone out there thinks they don't suck. It's a huge stroke to their ego, but having a supportive fan base is like taking a hot bath at the end of a long hard day. But not everyone can be 'active' supportive fans. Being a fan doesn't alway's mean you have to log into their website every day, or write a letter to whatever editor of whatever subscription or program out there...it means good or bad...you love them.

At the end of the day...do you still love him?

I've never read anything from an actual fan who said that. The only thing I've heard is that some fans are concerned for his general welfare (career-wise) if he continues to date someone the fangirls hate. I don't think anybody is going to abandon him because of who his girlfriend is. They can be *concerned*, but that doesn't mean they're going away.

Personally i have stuck my david cook all the way through....my friends r HUGE archie fans and they always make fun of david cook so everyday i have to defend him constantly...but i'm proud that i defend him. he is an amazing artist who is humble, sweet, charming, funny, and very very very very cute() anyway i have never critized him because what is the point of doing that? then how can u be called a fan? i like him in every way and i like all of his performances that he has done even the NA.

Sure, these criticisms may sound jarring to your ear (and mine too!) and they make stomachs churn, but that's the reason why we fans must stay strong and ever be ready to defend David when there's a need to. I'm proud to be his fan, that's for sure.

I'm pretty sure there're some of us fans who gave critisms like he looked tired or sorts, but that's only because we are geniunely concerned for him and his well-being. I know I'm guilty of such, and of course, it doesn't sit well with me either, especially when it came out from myself.

Now the issue about these ArchAngels. These sourgrapes can say anything they want, but they can never bring this tough Cookie down. Also, they are making a fool out of not only themselves, but also Archie's. (Sighz~)

On the overall, we're enjoying the fruits of our labors and enjoying David for who he is, and that we should continue to do so. Don't lose heart, gal.

you know, i have encountered many things like that..i've been a fan of many artists that encountered things that DC has encountering now that he won the Idol...many negative criticisms, bashing, gossips, etc..but, one thing that DC really needs right now is our support for him as his fans...he needs us, we need him, admit that...even we don't know him too personally, we need him because he's our inspiration, our Idol...just stay, we are millions in this battle..i know millions of people around the world are supporting him in any way he does..just like here in our country, the philippines..it's just a small country, about 90 million in population..but, i think almost all the teens and oldies here are fans of david cook..we hear his songs in almost all radio stations...we support him!!!we love him because he's sharing his good music to us..

just give him the understanding and love that he needs from us, like what we did during his battle in AI..

You know in your heart as a word nerd who David Cook is so you don't need to listen to the people that try to act like they know what he is about because they don't know because if they did, they would not be criticizing him the way they do.
