Haha I was in a restaurant with my grandma, aunt and mom so I stopped the conversation to let them all know that David Cook's single was on the radio and it was the first time I'd heard it. Then we all continued on with our conversation..

When i first heard it on the radio it was on my way to school, and since my dad was in the car I had to contain my squee as to not blow out his eardrum. It was awesome hearing it on the readio because i have only heard it listening to my ipod...on repeat.

That was a fun topic to add! And it's funny because I just heard it today on the radio for the first time!!!!!!!!! (96.9 in Phoenix -- TWO WEEKS UNTIL HE'S HERE!) I was on the I-10 freeway off-ramp, and I wasn't sure what I was hearing, and had to turn it way up. And it was him! Wow! I'm so used to only hearing it on all these websites....

I just turn it louder and sing along.
I don't cry or anything. I hear it at least 4 times a day on the radio.

They've been playing it multiple times daily here in Columbia, MO and I'm thrilled each time I hear it!! I stream the radio station on my computer at work so I can hear it as much as possible. Every time it comes on I turn it up and do a little happy dance in my chair

. The lady I share my office with is a fan too, so she's cool with it, although she's started to roll her eyes at me a bit since it happens all the time! lol

well I had been requesting it for about a week before I actually heard it and they always played it while I wasnt listening so one night I just turned the radio on to listen to it while I was trying to do homework and I heard the first few notes of TOML and I screamed and cried and started shaking.... it was awesome!!!!!

I am a real estate agent, and the first time I heard it was when at work. We have a phone system that plays radio through it. I heard it come on when I was in my office, and I just stopped what I was doing when I realized it was TOML. And I thought, how cool, he is on his way! I never listen to the radio, because I am always listening to the CD I burned with everything of him on it! So, it was nice to know the rest of the world is starting to get their taste of our DC, too!

As I am writing this, TOML is currently on radio now.
Anyway, the first time I heard that song was few hours after he won. I was quietly surprised when I heard it because I wasn't expecting that they would it immediately. I was like "Oh my god! They're playing David Cook's winning song already! They've never done that on past idol winners." Then I turned the volume loud and listened with a very huge grin on my face.
Well, actually I still have a huge grin on my face whenever I listen to that song.

When I first heard it I was in the car (my mom was driving) and were coming home from the post office where just minutes before i had sent David a present!

The song came on really softly but when I recognized it I screamed so loud that my mom slammed on the brakes and stopped in the middle of the road holding up the traffic. She gave me this "death stare" meaning NEVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN and then turned up the radio because she knew I would have been really mad at her if I missed it. lol I'll always remember that.
The second time was really similar, but since then I've heard it at home (my mom calls me from work if she hears it and tells me to turn on the radio so I don't miss it). hehe I love my mom.

Ok so here is what I am thinking as I sing along to it...I think, Hooray David Cook on the radio for all to hear...and Gaaaah I love that voice! and then I think wow...after hearing Analog Heart this is sooooo mellow for David and I hope all of his "easy listening" fans aren't upset when he dropps the new album and it rocks us up one side and down the other and then I think gaaaah what a good lookin man...then I think that I can't wait until the new album is out...then I tell myself to settle down the new album will be out before we know it!!

I haven't heard it on the radio yet because I never listen to the radio, but lol, the night after I read this board, I had a dream that I was in my room and I heard it coming from a radio in the kitchen and I ran in there to announce to everyone that David was on the radio and they should be quiet.

haha, wellll. it's a funny story. I was sitting in art class, and we always listen to the radio while we...paint...or do whatever artists do. It came on, and I dropped what I was doing, and looked at my friends. They rolled their eyes at me, like they always do when I mention David. I was just sitting there, singing along, while my friends are staring at me like I just morphed into an alien. I was very tempted to jump up and down and squeal like a crazy 10 year old, though. LOL.

I hear it all the time on a couple of different stations in Youngstown and Canton, Ohio. There is much DC love here.
The pop station has been playing it since right after he won and continues to do so (#1 most requested song tonight - and I didn't even request!).
I still giggle and say, "Cookie's on!" every time I hear it, though.
I second the statements of those who say this doesn't normally happen. His coronation song is the first song I have actually heard on rotation on the radio since Kelly's.
i first heard it yesterday actually and i cranked it up and jumped up and down like a ridiculous fan girl.....and then proceeded to sing along with my friend lol.
ohhhhhhh good times.

I was sitting in Popeyes with my sister eating fried chicken when all of a sudden, I heard the beginning of the song, looked at her and immediately started choking on the Louisiana hot sauce because of the excitement! I've been requesting it ever since to 104.5 and they've been listening. Like tonight at 10pm for instance...

When I first started hearing him on the radio, I would scream.
A little later on, I would giggle.
I heard him twice today and I have no idea why but I started to cry. Probably my inner fear that TOML is all I'm going to get to hear from him on the radio. It manifested itself in actual tears today.
I think I'm OK now. I'll just wait for the album, grab it up with my greedy little paws and then wait for more music when he goes back to doing the indie thing.

Hmmm . . . I station-surfed for 2 or 3 weeks here in Sacramento trying to find a station playing it. I'd almost given up when I was driving with a friend (not a DC fan) and had the radion on low . . . and suddenly there it was! I was so bummed because I wanted to turn it up full blast and start cheering, but of course I couldn't because my friend had absolutely no idea how obsessed I am (and better that she doesn't know - lol). But now I only listen to that station, request TOML (multiple times) whenever I go online, and TURN IT UP whenever possible! Somehow it just sounds better when I've waited to hear it.

I have never, not one time, heard TOML on the radio

I don't live in the sticks. I listen to popular stations, though not necessarily Adult Contemporary - so maybe that's why.

ummm why are you so negative? On the one hand, I understand the concern or the fear as you put it because I'm sure everyone has a little bit of that inside them concerning the unknown and what has happened to some of the other idols and runnerups, and knowing that this song has done unusually well for a CS, but try to be a little positive and have a little faith in the label. It looks as if they are doing their part but it's all up to the public.

The key to the ultimate success for him in terms of airplay is for the label to pick the "right" single when the time comes.
As far as how the stations go, the Hot Adult Contemporary station here plays it quite often. I think most of you who haven't heard it on your local top 40 station might want to try those type stations but some pop stations play it too. It just depends.
Try not to think so much about what "could" happen and just enjoy the ride.

Ahahaa, I was on vacation in Gettysburg when I heard it for the first time. We were in the car driving by some of the monuments and I just started screaming. xD People on a tour nearby seemed frightened, lol.
I've heard it a few times since then, but sadly they don't play it much here.

I finally heard TOML on the radio when driving back to Vancouver from Tacoma last Sunday. I think we were tuned into 89.7 and were just about to reach the border crossing. I turned it on a little louder, closed my eyes and smiled to myself. The perfect close to a wonderful weekend.

First time I heard it, I was in my dining room with my mom. i heard his voice and I screamed. Really loud. Then I turned the volume all the way up, and just sat there smiling, taking it all in. And I still do that every time besides for the loud scream.

I'm pretty sure it was June 4th...haha I remember the date!!! We were visiting my grandparents and had taken my Grandma into town to get groceries...we were at a gas station and she went inside to pay for it. We've got satellite radio in our truck and I've been WAITING since the day after the finale to hear it and I always listen to Sirius Hits 1. I'm sitting there and it came on and I half shrieked and went "Mom!!! It's David!!!" in this really croaky voice, because I started crying. The happy cry. It was an amazing moment. XD

First time I actually heard TOML on the local channels was on my way to work one AM. It's still playing while I pull into the work parking lot, sos I park the car and HAD TO finish listening and singing to the song and giggling like a little girl. By the time I punched in I was 2 mins. late (where I work they are Pissy about this) and so I had to punch out 2 minutes later that day. No Big Deal! But it was worth it! They are playing it all the time now and I'm still excited hearing it because this is the 1st of many DC songs I will be hearing on the radio!
