I apologize if this has been asked before.

I've read in several places that Bo was a big Cookie supporter and that he was rooting him on at the finale, but I was kind of wondering if Daughtry ever said anything positively or negatively about David. I know David has copped to meeting him briefly, but has said they aren't really friends, and he seems to want to distance himself from Daughtry a little bit, or at least seeks not to be compared to him constantly. I also think Chris was a little too busy to watch Idol this year anyway, but I was kind of wondering if he ever really discussed Cookie in print.

I don't know about that, but as I read the title of the post, I thought--wouldn't it be awesome if the 2 of them toured together?? WOW!!

I don't believe Chris has made any comment on David - good or bad. And having been a DAUGHTRY/Chris fan from day 1, he would not say anything negative!!! I did hear him comment a couple of times that he was just too busy, out on the road, to watch AI this season.

As for David wanting to "distance himself" from Chris - IDK that I would use that term. David is just getting his career started, I think he has more to worry about than what Chris Daughtry thinks of him.

maybe not to distance himself from daughtry, but i think he just want to have a record and a name of his own and not to be compared to anyone.. i think daughtry wouldnt say anything negative about anyone and so w/ cookie..

yeah...i read that before, somewhere else also, that Cook is intending to make a "Cook" record, not a "Daughtry" record. but i love both of them equally, so whatever they do is great

say, does anybody know when Daughtry's coming out with a new album??

Not a *huge* fan, but I hear 2009. I know on some other boards there were naysayers that said that 19 wouldn't want David Cook if they already had Daughtry to promote, but we know now this is obviously not going to be much of a problem.

I've said this elsewhere, but if David does well they are probably want to do a big ROCK IDOL 2009 tour. I know some people have said they won't really fit together, but we don't know about that yet. From a marketing standpoint this kind of thing is a no-brainer and I believe Kelly and Clay toured together so there's precedent for it.

Yeah he basically said in so many words he didn't want to make a Daughtry record that he wanted to make a David Cook record. I think that statement came from the way the media wanted to automatically compare him to Daughtry. David had basically said he had met Daughtry and that he was a really nice guy but as far as Daughtry saying anything specific about David himself, I haven't heard anything one way or the other and I doubt very much that Daughtry would say anything negative about Cookie either.
