David, let me preface my suggestion with the observation that by all appearances, you are uncommonly mentally healthy. You’ve handled your extraordinary circumstances with such aplomb that you already seem like an old hand at this game. But since a sudden thrust into the spotlight seems to take a toll on many people, my humble suggestion, if you find it all getting to be too much, is to talk to Eddie Vedder.

Being a longtime fan of Pearl Jam, I watched Ed struggle greatly with his sudden fame early on, which he did in a pretty public way. In my opinion, he was unusually successful at negotiating through that struggle, and he evolved into one of the most admirable, humble, caring, balanced people I know of.

The way he came through his challenges with those traits intact, even amplified, makes me believe he’s learned some stuff that could be of great value to someone like you, at the beginning of your life in the public eye.

Just an idea to keep in your back pocket should you ever need it. We all want you to stick around for a long, long time, so take good care of yourself, my dear!

Signed,
A Caring Cougar
