my friend and i were talking about what the Best Rock Song of all time should be, and i actually never thought it would be this hard to make (what seems like ) such an easy decision(.....which it isnt

) ...
my friend said it should be "Johnny B.Goode" by Chack Berry, which i can understand....but i thought the best Rock song is "Bohemion Rhapsody" by Queen (....which i stiil believe it is, despite what he says)
what do you think?
What is The Best Rock Song OF ALL TIME???(and only pick one

)

OHHHH tough one. You would first have to decide what the essence of rock is. Is it an instantly recognizable guitar riff? drawn out soloing? aggressive beat? haunting vocals? catchy tune? highly influential?
I'd go with Bohemian Rhapsody...just because it's fun.

Ditto... and did you hear DC say that he would love to play with Led Zepplin (when asked what "older" groups would he want to play with). His immediate answer was Zep, Beatles, and Stones.

Enamored by DC!!!!

Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway to Heaven, and Layla (by Cream) always seem to be the top ones. I'll have to go with BoRhap. the song is silly, has great vocals, catchy lyrics and music!
i wish freddie mercury was still alive, he's before my time, but i've seen pics and vids of his performances, just love the energy he has when performing and his voice!!!! like no other!!!!

OK, the thought of DC sharing the stage with Rock God Robert Plant makes me all kinds of woozy. Holy crap, what i wouldn't give to see that! I was lucky enough to see Plant in his "Tall Cool One" days. HOOOOOTTTTTTT!!!!!
As far as rock song, I'll have to go with "Jump" by Van Halen. It's my favorite anyway. It puts me in a good mood every time I hear it. And Roth ALWAYS makes me smile!

It's tough because so many sub genres fall under 'rock' (ska, punk, metal etc)
But I narrowed it down to these few; (in my opinion obviously)
Stairway To Heaven- Led Zepplin
Another Brick in the Wall- Pink Floyd
We are the Champions- Queen (just think LiveAid)
Leila- Eric Clapton
Sweet Child O Mine- Guns N Roses
Purple Haze- Jimi Hendrix
Smell Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana
Heroes- David Bowie
Thats my list!

very best!

The Stones were and amazingly still are awesome. We can only hope for such musical longevity for David!
Another group that deserves honorable mention for great rock is Cream. Definitely pegging myself as a geezer rocker here, LOL. But Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker? Sunshine of Your Love and White Room? Good stuff! Saw them live back in '68. Yep, I know, major geezerdom!
