Well, here's my story. My younger brother went to college with Dave (as he calls him). They had graphic arts classes together, did some projects together and even sat next to each other at graduation. I was at graduation and met Dave afterwards, although I really don't remember it. Terrible huh?? If only I'd known his future I'd have taken gobs of pictures!! lol

I was rooting for him completely from the beginning because he's a Missouri boy, but when my brother told me he knew him, I had even more to cheer for. We're all so proud of our "native son" and I can't wait to see him reach all of his dreams.

Actually, he did say that he was just as nice of a person then as he seems to be on TV and such. So it's genuine gals! My brother is a musician also, but he's what I'd call a snob.......anything mainstream is corney to him. But he was the one who called me to make sure I was watching AI to see his friend Dave - like I wouldn't be! Puh-leez! It just cracked me up that he was watching AI at all! He also said he had left "Dave" a voicemail on his cell early on in the competition to wish him luck and the recording was him just saying that he'd try to get back to you when he could........he didn't ever get time to answer all those voicemails, I'm guessing.

I'll have to go back through the graduation pictures that I took from the bleachers during the ceremony. They weren't very close, but I was just looking for my brother, not for David. I'll need to dig those up I think! I'll let y'all know if I come up with anything interesting.

I honestly don't remember what he looked like, so it'll be interesting to see! I'll post pics if I can find them.

We're in the process of building a house and packing stuff to move. I've got pictures in the most random places too! lol

As for my brother, his music "career" is a bit on hold. He just got married this month and his new wife is being deployed to Iraq with the Marines. He plays in some assorted bands in the Kansas City area occaionally but nothing full time at this point. Since he's a snob (what I call him playfully) and won't do the mainstream music thing, he's likely to be a recreational musician forever, which is a shame because he's incredible. Thanks for asking though! It'd be really cool if he got to play with David someday! You can bet I'd be there with camera in hand!

Someone else mentioned the idea of them getting back together for a college reunion someday - that would be cool. If it happens, I'll sure let y'all know!

My prayers are with him and his new bride. And snobby musician or not, I'm sure he's an excellent recreational musician! Haha. My older brother dabbles in the music industry too. Mostly mixing and dj-ing. He constantly talks about how much he loves music and I asked him the other day if he's going to make a career out of it. His reply was 'no'. It kind of made me sad, but then again... it's his life to do what he wants with it.
That would be so cool if he got to play with David one day... even if it was just a jam session. You should ask him if you could be his 'date' to the reunion... try and make something happen there. Haha!
