In Swedish Idol, for example, the first single from the winner’s album is actually the coronation song and it’s released immediately after the show is over (and then the album is rushed and out within a short couple of months and it’s never anything worth to remember).

I have heard that’s not the way it goes with AI and that we can expect a single from the upcoming album. My question is: If Cook’s album is scheduled for November, when can we expect the single to be released ?

i'm thinking a couple of weeks or so before the album comes out. i'm just guessing though.

Probably about a month or so before the album is released. The will probably release one single to get airplay and then a few more after the album sells. The singles have to have so many weeks on the top 100 before it they release another one. But his album will most likely be released in September or early fall.

He was talking in terms of late September as far as releasing the first single from the record and that depended on how well things were going with the writing and recording process. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a little earlier in September.

You have to give him time to write and record. As much as we all want the album as soon as possible the guy as a lot on his plate and he just can't crank out a CD in a short amount of time. TOML is still doing very well on radio, probably better than RCA anticipated so I think they may ride that wave as long as possible.

You make a good point. I don't think RCA thought TOML was going to do as well as it has done. It has surprised a lot of people. It has been said that when the song went for testing with the radio listening public that it the numbers were quite good.

Also, it doesn't make sense that they would release his single while the Idols are out on the road because it might conflict with the performances on tour. Just a thought...

Really? I read somewhere that he's releasing his album in November? If his album IS coming out in late August or Septemeber then WOOHOO! But I would find that incredibly fast for him to make an album. I really want him to be as successful as Daughtry... or even more successful!

No, you are correct. He has been saying mid to late November in some of the interviews (for the album release) during the idol tour.

funny how first it was august the september then september/october...now november and Im even hearing december... IT must be released SOON!
