Our local station is interviewing David at 8:40 PST. Nicole the interview just seriously hyping out this morning as she has a HUGE crush on David. She said she has been up half the night thinking up new questions cause she too is tired of the same old.

Update - He has had to cancel for personal reasons. They are trying to find out what is up with that. Hope it is not bad news from the home front.

They are waiting for their talent coord to get into his email to see what the reason is and promised they would update us. They have Michael Johns on instead. I think he is pinch hitting for a few interviews today.

Recording studio conflicts. Love it when the media jumps to conclusions!

Oh for pete sake! Why didn't they just keep their mouths shut until they knew the truth instead of jumping to conclusions! There may have been studio time booked in advance before the interview. Glad everything is ok though.

They did come back and say he had to be in the recording studio as they were trying to rush his album out. And as DC updated us today, he already has 7 songs! Which makes sense as when would he have time to record while on tour?

Hope he plays the new stuff on tour. We can all dream about running into him at a local hotspot during the tour where he's trying out new material. <well, we can dream. . .> Unfortunately for us Portlanders, he's in Tacoma the next night so I imagine they aren't sticking around here.

Radio DJs did say they would have him on next week, so us locals will keep you updated once we have a day--maybe this Monday.

I do feel for Michael Johns. He was gracious and fun but it was obvious they treated him like a fill-in. They even kidded about David thinking he was such a star he could easily cancel a radio interview (meant to be more of a slam on radio than David, but this cookie didn't find it that funny) MJ, again, said his album would be rock-soul, that contestants didn't have much time to help or critique each other (they asked him if David or others had given him advice) and other than saying, I'm thinking of singing this, was about it. Only thing about David I remember was the usual 'he's a nice guy' stuff.

Good to hear this from someone who listened to it. I've lost count of the number of radio interviews Cookie has done
but I did hear in other quarters that the DJs were a bit pissy towards MJ, which is no fun. Guess they're not too mad if they're having Cookie back later.

At any rate, it seems logical to me that the only reason they would rush Cookie into the studio at this point is because they want him to collaborate with someone who's on a tight schedule. Cookie mentioned he'd written with various people in the Houston interview, but he was vague on names. However, given the way he's been name-dropping the new OneRepublic song repeatedly, my money is on Ryan Tedder definitely being one of those people.

Daughtry, Jordin, and Blake wrote and recorded material while on the AI tour. This isn't unusual. Usually during the tour, they go into the studio to write and record on their days off. This is how you get your album done by the time frame that has been discussed. If you don't record on your days off, then it will push the release into December or January. He's already said he plans to go into the studio on his days off from tour. It can be pushy and stressful, but it can be done.
