Awww . . . thanks, everyone. You've all said such sweet things. Honestly, I just wrote what I really felt about David and how he has touched me (and us).
So many from D-C.org wrote in; I'm sure there will be lots more. Maybe they just haven't posted the status update yet. But I guess I learned my lesson that I should write well past midnight in the future! lol.
Thanks again for the kind words. You all are making me blush!

Subject: Thank You//David Cook
Good Morning:
I just wanted to send a quick note to thank People Magazine for the great article and video coverage given to David Cook in the June 16 issue.
While on American Idol and over the last 3 weeks or so, it has been wonderful getting familiar with David as a person, a musician and for what he stands for regarding his cancer awareness projects.
I never really watched Idol in the past seasons, but happened to tune in the night he sang “Hello” and like so many others he pulled me in and I was hooked ever since.
I also want to thank you for including him in the 2008 Hottest Bachelors – not only is David pleasant to look at – he has a wonderful soul and is very true to himself.
I look forward to following David through his journey over the coming years and I hope that People Magazine will cover him as well.
Thank you very much.
All the very best,
Annette Ciattarelli

Hey, Annette! I already said "Way to go," but this is a perfect opportunity to remind everyone that
we should send more letters in to the editors, thanking them for the coverage of DC and asking them for more! As a fanbase, let's be very clear that we want to see David in more mags (more media coverage = more fans = more sales = David to the top of the charts with a solid record = His Dream Come True).
Email away, D-C.org-ers!

Here's the letter I wrote -- they said all or a portion of my letter would be published.
To the editors of People,
Thank you for the outstanding David Cook coverage in the Jun 16 issue! From the stunning photos to the fantastic interview, you captured perfectly the David we all appreciate and support! You shared with the world the articulate, empathetic, gracious, witty, grounded artist that his fans have believed in since we first heard him sing! He carried himself with class and grace throughout the competition and into his reign as champion, inspiring his fans in ways that he may never hear about or understand. No one deserves the often over-used title of “Idol” more than David. Please keep the great David Cook coverage coming!
P.S. We’d like to suggest that perhaps you'd like to (please) consider David for your Sexiest Man Alive title!
Awesome!
Well written.
Congrats

Those are great letters. Wonderful description of DC.
Question: I saw the People IV online but didn't realize that it was out in print. But it appears from the posts here that it already hit the newstands?

Dang if I can remember who was on the cover -- I'm having a senior moment!!! Possibly Heather Locklear, not 100% sure.
But yes, they did print the whole thing as far as I could tell, I just read it at the newstand and then put it back, and everything I remembered about it appeared to be there. (Sorry, I wasn't buying it because there were no Cookie pics).
I do remember the heading was just simply "David Cook" and that it was split across the bottom of the second column and the top of the third column. And they MAY have spelled your name "Jocelyn" not 100% sure about that either.
Please scan it when you do get a copy.

I saw it! They really kinda edited it, didn't they?
What gives with only ONE letter on DC? I mean, I'm honored mine was selected -- at least we got one in. But *one*?! (And they deleted the request to consider him for Sexiest Man Alive!) hmmmm.....
Well, one is better than none. That's for sure. Wait until they put David on the cover! LOL - that Mailbag page after he's on the cover should be FULL of David letters.

(Gotta think positively.)

Congrats BLake on getting your letter published!
Sidenote: They DO edit letters from readers. I've e-mailed a local entertainment magazine here in Singapore a few times and they published some of my letters but the editing... oh my gosh... horrendous!! I understand that they need to edit for length, placement etc etc but the grammar?? They've messed up my letters to the point of grammar being wrong, can you imagine?

I was all excited that my letter got published but pissed off that that happened. I mean I signed off IN my name and that wasn't what I wrote dammit!
