He recorded a duet with a singer/songwriter/pianist from Norman, OK - Maggie McClure. Check her out at www.maggiemcclure.com
and www.myspace.com/maggiemcclure
She is fantastic! They sound awesome together!! The song they recorded is called "We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping". Can't wait to see if it makes it on the new CD!

David had already recorded 10 songs for his new album that was to be released in September 2008, before he won AI. He recorded a duet with a singer/songwriter/pianist from Norman, OK - Maggie McClure. Check her out at www.maggiemcclure.com

He was already planning another album? I'm hoping the new album will be a high quality recording.
What other songs were already recorded? Do you know?

If my memory is correct, that song title is one of the working titles of one of Dave's songs from the second album he never released. I remember he wrote down all the titles of the songs (on his myspace) in his pending second album he was making before AI and that's one of them.

...however, i did check out maggie mcclure's website and think she has a pretty voice.

Oh, cool, she's going to be at Estes Park "Music in the Rockies" in August. I live in Colorado. Glad someone's coming here, since AI tour isn't, lol.

I'd agree with the above, I'd like to see some sort of confirmation, it's the first we've heard about this.
Must admit, not that keen on her voice, she sounds like a heck of a lot of other female singers to my ears, very generic and of a type. (But admittidly sounds a million times better then my bellowing attempts at singing

)

This has been confirmed as true, he recorded that song with her.
...note that this has nothing to do with the album he's working on now.

Here is the full track list from David's unreleased 2nd CD - I knew I saw that title somewhere before!
Right now, there are ten songs. I'm crossing my fingers for an eleventh, but time will tell.
the tracks, right now, in now particular order, are:
A Daily AntheM
Chandeliers (Monty's pining for 'Scandeliers')
The Downfall
Debutante
Elizabeth
Better Never Than Late
We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping
Eta Carinae
A Dirty Shame
Precious Decline

I'm hoping this album will eventually be remastered and released - but that may never happen. Now that AI has a hold of him, I'm sure it's safe to say his sound will change just enough where that album he previously made just may not be "him" anymore - who knows. For all we know his contract could include 7 albums or something, and this one could make it's way into the market...wishful thinking?

When is the exact month that the album be released?

Wow, you guys went digging deep to bump up this thread! This is fairly old info and there's no indication whatsoever that there's a duet on the new album. In fact, I would be SHOCKED if there's even one. This info was posted long before Rob Cavallo came on board. It was even before the tour started.
The exact month is November. Tentative date is 11/11, but we've also heard 11/18. The way the music biz works, it would be standard to put a single out about a month in advance... sometime in mid-October. Could also drop a single in September and another single closer to album release date, but I don't think that will happen. I think since TOML is out already, we're looking at an early to mid-October single release.
