I posted this in another topic in response to a question from JerseyGirl2, but I thought you all would like the info.
I just got a copy of the original Analog Heart CD and it has the following liner notes:
David Cook - Vocals/Guitar/Piano
Josh Center - Drums
Neal Tiemann - Guitar (tracks 4,5,8)
DTMB - Bass (tracks 3,4,5,8,10)
Ben Hosterman - Bass (tracks 2,7)
Produced by David Cook
Engineered by Ben Hosterman (tracks 1,2,4-10) Andy Skib (tracks 4,5,8) and Paul Johnson (tracks 3,10)
Extra Vocals on "Silver" performed by Andy Skib
I didn't know David played the piano on the CD or that Andy is singing background vocals!

Violin too??? Oh man oh man, I said it on the other thread and I'll say it again... that is one multi-talented Cookie!!!!
Yes I would have totally died if he played piano on the show... One of my most favorite moments at a Springsteen concert is when he sat down at the piano and floored us with a stunning rendition of Jersey Girl (LOL) ... can you imagine at a Cookie concert some years from now and he sits down at the piano and plays a really slow haunting Time of My Life???? Or maybe even The Truth???
thanks for starting this thread, Carole, enquiring minds want to know

Yup. Said he started with violin when he took up musical instruments in school. Picked violin, b/c a cute girl he had a crush on played violin. (Said he never did get a date with her. Lol.)
Switched to guitar a couple of years later when his dad gave him a guitar as a present. (The rest, as they say, is history. I mean, the man can PLAY a guitar.)
Knew about piano from AH. And I believe bass came up as a report out of KC/OK days, possibly in conjunction with MWK .....? There's a thread around here somewhere about it.

That would be absolutely amazing. And I'd be dead. Speaking from beyond the grave.
I do have to say though, I love a man who can play the piano because I can't. there's something really sweet and sexy about just a musician and his piano. Its actually part of the reason I love Josh Groban so much and why some of my favorite songs of his live are the ones where he plays the piano.
Sorry, I just jumped COMPLETELY OT there.....

I would have been dead for sure. I always hoped that he would do FTEISYF on the piano. But he decided to spare my life....barely. Hopefully we will be treated with a piano performance in the future. I find it hard to believe that he would only know two songs on the piano. Come on DC.....we know better than that.

http://www.rickey.org/?p=8038Just fyi, someone in the crowd yelled "Chopsticks", but that's not what he played. He played a little bit of the piano theme from Halloween.
I kind of believe him when he says that's one of only two songs he can play. I could be wrong, but I've not seen or heard anything that suggests he's an accomplished pianist.
He's still endlessly fascinating, though, isn't he?

I do, too. Piano doesn't seem to be his focus and I think he would have performed with it by now if he felt comfortable with it.

And yet, he is credited with playing piano on AH, go listen to Silver again, that is definitely someone who can play piano. OK it's not concert pianist level, but if he only knows two songs, it's Chopsticks and Silver!!!!

One of the best threads I've seen around here about these nitty-gritty deets is his guitar collection. Whoa.
